Home Learning Week 3 - Early Years

Can you save Humpty Dumpty Challenge? . Hard boil an egg and decorate it to look like Humpty Dumpty.

. Now use junk/recycling materials to create something that will protect Humpty Dumpty when he falls off the wall. You could wrap things around him or build something for him to sit inside of it is up to you.

. Once you have completed your protection for Humpty it’s time to test it out. Build a pretend wall form blocks or stack books and place it on a hard surface- Sit Humpty on top and watch him fall. Did he crack or did you save him?

Egg-speriment

Marbled Eggs - You will need: Hard boiled eggs, olive oil, vinegar and food colouring.

Dip your eggs in food colouring and water to dye them, and then dip them again in an oil and coloured water solution to marble them!

Wax Resist Eggs - Decorate your egg with wax crayon then dip in the food colouring/water. The food colouring won’t stick where the wax has been then wipe over with a bit of oil to make them shine.

Striped Eggs - Explore what happens when you wrap elastic bands around your hard boiled eggs before putting them in food colouring. Tip: pat egg dry before removing rubber bands.
