MEETING DETAILS The meeting will be held at Unilever Research and Development Port Sunlight in Bebington on the Wirral. Unilever is one of the world's largest consumer goods companies, specialising primarily in foods, household care and personal care products. Exploratory research within the company is responsible for development and use of the latest scientific advances for future products and processes. As such, the company has a large interest in biofilm research, together with understanding the ecology and physiology of dental plaque as part of the Oral Care Discovery programme.

The site is easily accessible by car or by train – please refer to attached directions.

The meeting is being sponsored by Unilever R&D, which means there is a nominal registration fee of £75 (£50 if not attending the informal dinner). The fee will cover a packed lunch and teas & coffees on both Wednesday and Thursday, an informal dinner on Wednesday evening plus coach transport from the hotel to the meeting venue and the restaurant.

The meeting will start at 2pm on Wednesday 21st January. Registration and packed lunches will be available from 12.30pm. The session will finish at 5.30pm when it will be possible to go back to your hotel and freshen up. Coaches will be laid on from the main hotel at 7.30pm in the evening for all those who are interested in coming out for a meal. There will be coaches back to the hotel at approximately 10.30pm.

The next morning the workshop will start at 9.30am. We will finish around 12.30-1.00pm when you will be able to have a pack lunch before leaving for home.

Because of security measures, it is very important that you register in advance for this meeting. If you are not coming by car, please be aware that no transport will be available at the start and the end of the meeting (because the station is only 5 minutes walk away). However, as discussed, if there is demand for it, there will be transport laid on to take people back to their hotels at the end of the first day and to the site at the beginning of the second day. Please make sure that you indicate if you would like transportation on the registration form.

If you have any questions, please get in contact with the local organiser, Dr. Melanie Brading on 0151-641-3692 ([email protected]). Looking forward to a good workshop!
