Todd Dunnigan pianist, producer & recording engineer

BOISE, (Oct. 24, 2003) – Pianist-at-large Todd Dunnigan is a veteran performer, composer, producer, and recording engineer with experience in nearly every segment of the music business. Dunnigan started playing professionally when he was 15 years old in his hometown of Boise, Idaho, which gave him the opportunity to hang around the club scene at an early age. He began playing in Top-40 bands, but became interested in taking his music to a higher level after attending jam nights hosted by legendary jazz pianist and fellow Boisean Gene Harris. Harris allowed Dunnigan to sit on the bench next to him while he played, giving his pupil an insider’s view of his techniques.

In 1988, Dunnigan produced his first album, “Small Pond,” a compilation of Boise recording artists. Sales of the record allowed him to purchase his own studio – a modest 16-track setup that soon blossomed into The Audio Lab, Idaho’s selected discography leading professional recording studio. In 2000, as producer/engineer/performer Dunnigan sold the studio, which is still currently in operation. “Ultimate Alternative Wavers” “The Normal Years” Throughout the 80s and 90s, Dunnigan played “Built to Spill/” and toured with a variety of acts, including Smokey Caustic Resin “Body Hate, Body Love” “Trick Question” Robinson, The Moody Blues, Natalie Cole, Gary “Built to Spill/Caustic Resin” “U.S.” Bonds, and the national touring company of Mad Ro “Livin’ Proof” “Out Tha Wood Werk” “Beauty and the Beast.” And over the last nine “Just Kidding” years, he has produced hundreds of albums for various artists “Red, Hot and Bothered” virtually every type of artist from punk to polka. Keith Anderson “A Tribute to Nat King Cole” Dunnigan performs every Thursday, Friday, and motion picture soundtrack “Not This Part of the World” Saturday evening at the Manhattan Grill in Dirt Fisherman “Sonic Goo” downtown Boise as one of the dueling pianists. He House of Hoi Polloi “A Million Chameleons” is also renowned for his role as co-founder of the TransAtlantic Crush “Romantica” “Discovered” 70s-pop tribute band $oul Purpo$e and his “fourth- “Aviator of Love member” status with rappers Mad Ro. MC Shake “7 Years Deep” Dunnigan – who prefers old-school jazz and Deep Down Trauma Hounds “Dyslorxic Marbul” Orgasmatron “Plays for You” & “Sings for counts Thelonious Monk, Joel Forrester, Brad You” Mehldau, Guillermo Klein, and, of course, Gene Dirk Hamilton “The Road, the Night, the Light” Harris among his influences – is currently recording various artists “Rotating Tounges” a new CD of his original jazz compositions.
