YEAR 6 – LEAVERS’ ACTIVITIES Please remember to return the signed consent form, together with the £10 contribution towards the ‘Leavers’ Activities’, by Friday 2nd July. Thank you for your support in this matter. TRANSITION DAYS FOR Y6 We encourage Y6 parents to keep up-to-date with the information from high schools with regard to September. Transition has once again been affected by COVID and therefore a number of activities are to be virtual rather than face to face. Additional activities are being arranged for the summer holidays and the start of term in September. NEW STARTERS FOR SEPTEMBER 2021 – Nursery/Reception Unfortunately this year we will not be able to hold the usual welcome meeting for parents or visit for the children. This year parents will be invited to collect an information pack from school; the pack will contain all the relevant forms for completion and start date information. We ask that only one parent, accompanied by the child who is due to start, collects the pack from the School Office where they will briefly have the opportunity to meet their class teacher for September. Parents will be contacted by school office staff to confirm when they will be able to collect their child’s pack. NEW PE UNIFORM FROM SEPTEMBER The new PE kit: black jog pants or black leggings; white t-shirt, royal blue hoodie and trainers will be introduced from September. The jog pants, leggings and t-shirt can be purchased from a variety of shops and the hoodie is available from Ziggy’s and Touchline (ordered via School Office). TEACHING STAFF FOR SEPTEMBER 2021 Parents will be informed of class teachers w/c 12th July. ILLNESS In the current climate please can we ask that if children are unwell, or complain of eg headaches, stomach pains or have a raised temperature, they should stay at home; children with sickness bugs will require 48 hours at home. If your child displays symptoms of COVID, the child will require a test and the child’s siblings will not be allowed in school until a negative result is returned. If parents have to be tested, children are to remain at home whilst awaiting the results of the test. SCHOOL MEAL – PRICE INCREASE Unfortunately the local authority have had to raise the cost of a school meal and from September 2021 the price of a school meal (two courses plus a drink) will increase to £2.20.
