In recognition of Ave Maria’s record-setting 506 new-home sales in 2020 and the caliber of amenities and lifestyle it offers, two respect- ed national real estate consulting agencies, RCLCO Real Estate Advisors and John Burns Real Estate Consulting (JBREC), have named the development one of the 50 Top-Selling Master-Planned Communities (MPCs) in the United States. According to RCLCO Managing Director Gregg Logan, the purpose of their annual rank- ing is not just to highlight real estate trends and locate markets with the most significant Bougainvillea Exterior momentum, but also to commend the most suc- cessful communities and identify development best practices from MPC pioneers. Collier County’s Ave Maria experienced one of the highest year-over-year growth rates Homeowners in new home sales of all Top Master-Planned Communities. “With a 95% increase over its sales pace in 2019, Ave Maria’s strong perfor- start moving into mance in 2020 reflects the careful planning and investment in community place-making done by Barron Collier Companies,” says RCLCO report writer Karl Pischke.

All Bryana Hamilton knew was that she saw people hurting in the wake of a natural disaster and she wanted to help. She never expected that she and three of her fellow students would wind up being recognized for their efforts with the Do the Right Thing Award. Bryana, an Ave Maria resident and Cork- screw Middle School student, initiated a proj- ect to raise money to help the people of the Bahamas who were devastated by the impact of Hurricane Dorian. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office presented the award recently to her and the students who supported and assisted in the fundraising campaign: Omar Rosado, Kadlyn McMillan and Zoey Seng. Hurricane Dorian was a Category 5 hurri- cane and considered the worst natural disaster in the recorded history of the Bahamas. The winds of the 2019 storm reached a height of 185 mph.
