If you year 2016 took place on this day where our new Ill .Potentate Art see a child with no smile, give them yours Andy Chillie Mellman Weingarten, were sworn in to serve Syrian Shrine. Later that evening, after a great dinner, our Unit Directors were sworn in. May God’s Speed be with our new leaders? Looking further into our leadership is the heart of our parades, the Parade Marshall Randall Proctor and his Assistant “Barrels”. You all know these two, so be prepared for one busy parade season and I do look forward to it. All those new officers do need our support and help. The parade season is one of my favorite time of year but it does have its down side, time spent preparing for it and taking the time to be a part of it. This is the best form of advertisement for Syrian that we can present to the world especially when close to home. This brings me to a Shriner story when the wife hit him with a frying pan on the head. “What was that for”? The man asked. “That was for the piece of paper I found in your pants pocket with the name Jenny” the wife answered. “When I was at the races last week, Jenny was the name of a horse I bet on” The wife apologized and went back to her housework. Three days later the man was watching TV when his wife bashed him on the head with an even bigger frying pan, knocking him unconscious. Upon re-gaining consciousness the man asked why she had hit him again. Wife replied “Your horse phoned”! Essalamu Aleikum. Samuel Mattar

Great things happen when units and clubs recruit, active membership rises. The best way to enjoy your membership in the Shriners fraternity is to participate, and a great way to participate is to join a club or unit. Look for our upcoming rush party’s in 2016 Why we are Shriners !!!!!! Hunter Woodhal He plays basketball, football and soccer; he wrestles; he runs track, snow skis, swims and roller blades, all with two prosthetic legs. Hunter Woodhall, 13, was born with fibular hemihelix of the left leg. The condition is a shortening or absence of one of the two bones in the calf, which may require amputation or bone-lengthening procedures to correct. In addition, his right ankle was fused. The Woodhalls had a difficult time finding information about Hunter’s conditions. After exploring options that offered no real hope, the Woodhalls contacted Shriners Hospitals for Children. After consulting with a team of experts at the Tampa, Fla., facility, the Woodhalls proceeded with the amputation of Hunter’s feet. After his surgery – at just 11 months old – Hunter was soon walking and running around. He hasn’t stopped since. Later, the Woodhalls moved to Syracuse, Utah, where Hunter became a patient of Shriners Hospitals for Children® — Salt Lake City. Hunter is a straight A student and an accomplished athlete. The team of experts at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Salt Lake City has always provided options to help Hunter be able to do anything he wants to do, including fitting him with some of the first Flex-Foot Cheetah custom feet that the hospital had ever provided, as well as special liners for wrestling, in addition to his prosthetic legs for daily use. Sincerely, Bruce Pendleton Membership Chairman (C) 859-445-6829 [email protected]
