The Pathway to Fellowship

How does one become a Fellow in this Association? One of the key issues that surfaced in the membership survey we recently conducted was that although members were 90% sat- isfied, how one advances in the Association was unclear to many members. Although advancement may mean different things to different members, for the sake of this message, I will focus on the pursuit of Fellowship. According to Association guidelines, a clear path of ad- vancement to Fellowship is generally based on participation in Association activities, attending annual scientific meetings, showing leadership, and commitment to AsMA. The path- way to Fellowship is a joint responsibility between the indi- vidual and the leadership of the Association. Marian B.
