Police&Fire report

INTOXICATED LINDEN TEEN CAUGHT AT FENTON HIGH SCHOOL At 4:17 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, a Fenton police officer noticed two ve- hicles parked in the north parking lot of Fenton High School with no frost on the windows, indicating that the vehicles had recently been parked there. The officer checked the concession area and observed a white male attempting to climb the fence. Two other individu- als made it over the fence and fled to the vehicles. The officer caught the 17-year-old Linden male who appeared highly intoxicated. A preliminary breath test revealed a blood alcohol content of .127 percent. He was taken to the police station and released to his parents. The teen declined to name the two people he was with.

DINNER DATE ACCUSED OF ASSAULT On Monday, Oct. 31, a 21-year-old Holly woman filed an assault complaint with the Fenton Police Department. Lt. Jason Slater said the woman reported she had been having dinner with a 41-year-old Tyrone Township man at a local res- taurant. The man became intoxicated and they argued. She walked out of the restaurant and he followed her to her ve- hicle, at which time he shoved her. She got into her car and drove to the police station to report the incident. Police are attempting to contact the man and the case will be sent to the prosecutor’s of- fice for review.

HOT LINE CONTINUED I SEE THE ‘Welcome to Fenton’ sign is gone from South Holly Road already. nnn WELL, IT’S GETTING close to Christ- mas, so I know my winter taxes are almost due. My assessment went up more than $13,000 for some reason, when you can’t sell a house around here for anywhere near the amount they’re wanting in the township. I’m not going to be happy if you hose me because you lost business and home tax revenue. nnn I’D LIKE TO know whom the police and fire departments support in this upcoming election. nnn EVERYBODY’S MAKING AN issue about the burn permit issue, but every municipality in the state has a law re- garding permits for burning. Ignorance of the law is no excuse. nnn I HAVE TO wonder why the city of Fenton should spend up to $300,000 to purchase and install signs in the city. That is amazing. Just think how many houses could be rehabilitated. How many busses could be stuffed with food for families in need? nnn I’D LIKE TO acknowledge the Rotary club for building a ramp for my father, so now he can get in and out of his house. What a big help. Thanks, guys. nnn IT IS MICHIGAN law for slower- moving vehicles to remain in the far right lane on the expressway. The far left lane is for passing only, hence the name ‘passing lane.’ If you are not passing, stay to the right, please. nnn IT MAKES ME so mad that you think ‘stupid students’ take out huge loans. Research the average cost of a college education before you pass judgment. I attended a local commu- nity college and I faithfully pay every month for my over-priced education. I’m very upset at the price of college. 8 Wednesday, November 2, 2011 TIMES MIDWEEK www.tctimes.com FOREIGN EXCHANGE Holly High School admits he never played the game before Reschke likes the pizza here, which Continued from Front Page Supawut Rujirawanich, known as coming here. DEAR DR. DONOHUE: I have puffy bags under my eyes. They look like they have water in them. I am an 85-year-old woman. What’s the best way to treat them? They aren’t getting any better. I use ice on them, and it helps, but they come back. — M.C. ANSWER: Those puffy bags under your eyes aren’t filled with water; they’re globs of fat. In younger years, tough strands of fiber held them in place. With age, those strands weaken, and the fat bulges out. Look around and watch for them on TV. You’ll see that most people over 60 have them. They’re not a sign of illness. I have seen all sorts of ads for creams and gels that say they can shrink these bags. I can’t vouch for any of them. I don’t know if they work. I have reservations. One way to correct them is surgical removal. You can forget the ice treatment unless you want to keep it up. It’s not a solution.
