Rob’s (No Spoilers) Review by Rob Rodriguez Community Service Update Dr. Who by Autumn Scott I like to review many different things and this week I’m going to review a Thanks to everyone who came out and donated their cars for our Trunk – Netflix marathon. While on break in between semesters I decided to watch the hit British OR – Treat! It was a success! Thank you to all that came out and brought series “Dr. Who”. I have heard of this British phenomenon slowly building a reputation thee kids to come play. Right now, GMC is trying to figure out another big over the past few years so I decided to give it a shot and watch an episode or two with an open mind. Starting off is the titular “Dr. Who” (referred to as simply The Doctor) that is that last of his race of Time Lords from a galaxy far away. He travels to Earth and becomes its pro- tector against threats that the planet cannot handle; aliens, monsters, angelic statues, etc. He battles these creatures of nefarious intent with his wit, aid of a companion, and a time traveling phone booth. While the premise and some episodes seem goofy the stories all tie together with an over arcing storyline that always closes pleasantly in between seasons. The writing perfectly balances the campiness of British humor and the seriousness of a time traveling empa- November Inspiration thetic hero. Slightly confusing but it gives fresh air to a potentially stagnant story and/or cast. Forget about the hate and across time and space. The first few episodes are a little difficult to get through but give it a chance—you won’t regret it. As characters die you will long for a return that never comes; fights, enjoy every second you get to breathe. Be thankful for waking up which is rare in science fiction (I’m looking at you Marvel). The series is exhausting, fright- this morning and having a roof over your head. ening, funny, silly, annoying, and will make you wonder why you’re tearing up over a TV show (No Spoilers).
