Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Pharmacy (SKNCOP), Kondhwa Pune organized Induction Programme for newly admitted First Year B. Pharm students on August 6, 2018. It was aimed at making newly admitted students aware of the outcome based education system, course structure & scheme of examination, academic, co-curricular, extra-curricular activities of the year, study techniques, time management, goal setting, preparing for placements, Teacher-Guardian Scheme, campus life etc. More than 90 students, their parents & faculty members participated in the program. All students were provided with Induction Kit containing Academic Calendar, Note pad, Pen and Coffee Mug. Dr. S. D. Sawant, Principal of the College welcomed the Chief Guest, Mr. Mahesh Shinde & participants and further guided the newly admitted students on Scope and Potential of Pharmacy Profession. Mr. Mahesh Shinde, Joint General Manager, Machine Tool Prototype Factory, a unit of Ordnance Factory Board, Ministry of Defense, Government of India, Ambernath, Mumbai in his motivational talk explained the importance of the profession and addressed the students for their career path ahead with a focus on studies and civil services like MPSC & UPSC as one of the important career avenues. In second half session Mr. R. V. Sinhgad Technical Education Society's Takawale, Assistant Professor SMT. Y. 2019 - 20 | Tuesday, August 13, 2019 techniques, Dr. (Mrs.) J. R. Madan, Professor & Training & Placement Officer of College explained about various activities of TPC and emphasized the need for the job readiness. She focused on skills required to improve employability in pharmaceutical industry. The next informative presentation was by Mrs. Smruti Mukadam, Assistant Professor on various co & extracurricular activities of the year along with the staff coordinators for the same. Dr. Vishal Zambre, Associate Professor spoke on outcome based education systems with graduate attributes & program outcomes expected from graduates at the end of the B. Pharm. program. Mrs. M. C. Singh, Assistant Professor summarized the whole event with her important closing remarks at the end. While Ms. Manjusha Dole, proposed the vote of thanks for the programme.

The main objective of NPW celebrations is to create awareness amongst the public, other healthcare providers and the authorities, about the pharmacy profession and role of the pharmacist. Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Pune Branch and Pharmacy Sinhgad Technical Education Society’s Colleges of jointly organized National SMT. KASHIBAI NAVALE COLLEGE OF PHARMACY + th st “Accredited by NAAC with B Grade" Pharmacy Week 2018 from 25 September to 01 October Kondhwa (Bk.), Pune - 411 048 2018. Total 65 students from SKNCOP participated in 58th National Pharmacy Week Celebration-2019 various NPW events. As part of organizing institutes, Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Pharmacy, Kondhwa (Bk), Welcome to Pune, organized Patient Counseling Competition. The competition was inaugurated by Chief Guest, Mr. Nitin Pharma Detailing Competition Deo, Deo Medicals, Pune; Dr. S. D. Sawant, Principal SKNCOP; Dr. Mrs. Vidhya Bhusari, NPW coordinator Theme : Pharmacists Role in Patient Safety and Efficacy of Medicines SKNCOP and two judges appointed by the IPA Pune Monday, September 23, 2019 branch Mr. Pradeep Supekar (Nilam Medical Store, Pune) and Mrs. Saba Shaikh (MCE Society's, Institute of Pharmacy [D. Pharm], Pune). The students from various colleges displayed their creativity in Patient Counselling Competition. Total 35 teams participated in the competition, (9 Diploma, 21 UG and 05 PG). Teams enacted skit of 5 mins on Patient Counselling. The ceremony ended with declaration of results followed by national anthem.

12 Annual Report, 2018-19 World Pharmacists Day Celebration-2018

World Pharmacists Day was celebrated on 27th September 2018 at Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Pharmacy. “Pharmacists: Your Medicines Experts” was the core message of this year's World Pharmacists Day. The major focus of World Pharmacists Day celebrations was to organize activities that promote the role of pharmacist in improving health in every corner of the world. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Nitin Deo, Deo Medicals, Pune; Dr. S. D. Sawant, Principal SKNCOP; Dr. (Mrs.) Vidhya Bhusari, NPW coordinator at SKNCOP. Dr. S. D. Sawant addressed the students by his inspiring words. Mr. Nitin Deo presented the current scenario of retail pharmacist in the society. There was an overwhelming response from students for the event. They celebrated this day by wearing badges with 'Trust me, I'm a Pharmacist' quote. Short animated videos were played from International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) website to recognize and acknowledge the hard work and contributions of the pharmacist to the society. The celebrations of World Pharmacist Day ended with a vote of thanks.

14 Annual Report, 2018-19 Cultural Events

1. Guru Purnima Celebration Guru Purnima was celebrated in the college on 27th July 2018. The students had prepared posters, displaying poems and quotations to show their love and respect for teachers which was displayed on the notice board. 2. Teacher's Day celebration Teacher's Day was celebrated in SKNCOP on 12th September 2018. In the morning session Students dressed up as their teachers and also assume their role by taking classes for First, Second and Third year, afternoon session started with the motivational speech given by Principal Dr. S. D. Sawant SKNCOP , on importance of student teacher relationship and positive learning environment for the students. Then students performed special cultural program for their teachers to make them happy and feel special in every possible way which included felicitation of teachers and various interactive games. Program was concluded by vote of thanks- given by Final year student followed by National anthem. Refreshment was served to all attendees. This program was coordinated by Mrs. Smruti Mukadam and Ms. Vidya Navasare (Cultural Coordinators). 3. Gandhi Jayanti Celebration Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated in SKNCOP with great enthusiasm on 3rd October 2018, as it was the 150th birth anniversary of Shri Mahatma Gandhi. Program started with lamp lightening by Dr. S. D. Sawant, Principal, SKNCOP followed by short speech. All teaching, non teaching staff and students also paid tribute on this occasion by remembering his thoughts and contribution in building of this nation. Students spoke about Gandhian thoughts, contribution of Gandhiji on India's independence and sang patriotic songs. This program was coordinated by Mrs. Smruti Mukadam, Mrs Preeti Lasure and Mr. Ramesh Gadekar. 4. Fresher's day party The purpose of Fresher's Day party is to welcome new students in a friendly atmosphere and to encourage their creative impulses to boost their confidence. It is the day where seniors and juniors finally bond and unite to celebrate being part of the college.In SKNCOP, it was organized by Second Year B. Pharm and M. Pharm students for F.Y. students on 8th October 2018. The Program started with lamp lightening and speech of Dr. S. D. Sawant, Principal SKNCOP and Mrs. Meera Singh (Academic In charge). Senior students arranged many activities for freshers which include cultural events as well where everyone got chance to showcase their talent. Refreshments were served during the program. Mr. Deepak Bhingardive & Miss. Snehal Mhaske were chosen as the Mr. and Miss Fresher respectively. Mr. Mayur Chaudhary and Miss Sakina Patnawala were awarded as the best dressed students. The event was finally concluded with dinner. This program was coordinated by Mrs. Smruti Mukadam and Ms. Vidya Navsare (Cultural Coordinators). 5. Dandiya Navaratri Dandiya Navaratri – 2018 was arranged on 13th October 2018 at Sinhgad Technical Education Society's parking ground Vadgaon. Students of all the classes participated in the event enthusiastically. 6. Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel's 143th birth anniversary was celebrated in SKNCOP as “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas”on 31st October 2018. Elocution competition was organized to celebrate the day, Mr. Rahul Saundalgekar stood first and Mr. Rahul Dashputre came second in the competition.Ms. Nikita Bagade Assistant Professor SKNCOP also expressed her thoughts about Iron Man of India. This event was coordinated by Mrs. Preeti Lasure and Mrs. Smruti Mukadam. 7. Sinhgad Karandak (Cultural) 2018-19 Sinhgad Karandak Neon-2019 was organized in SIBAR Auditorium, Kondhwa Campus on 14th and 15th February 2019. Qualified students performed in final round at Vadgaon Campus. 8. Farewell Function: Farewell function of Final year B.Pharm and Final Year M. Pharm students was held on 17th April 2019. At SKNCOP, birth and death anniversaries of National personalities who have significantly contributed in the shaping of the destiny of India are routinely celebrated. Institute pays tribute to the national heroes for their supreme sacrifices and relentless efforts for nation building. Their efforts made the nation strong and organized which holds the people of various religions, sects, races, dress, civilization and culture together. Despite several differences, all the people remain in mutual harmony with each other. These celebrations create a sentiment which reflects solidarity or patriotism among the faculty and students. Environmental Science Field (EVS) tour to Mulshi and Tamhini Ghat for Semester III , S.Y. B Pharm students Environmental Science Field visit was organized for second year students on 6th October 2018. The students visited Mulshi forest and Devrai (sacred groves).Various plants viz Shankhapushpi, Harde, Shikakai and various varieties of plant were observed by the students. Then the students visited and Mulshi forest where they had interaction with the Katkari tribe. Dr. Swapnil Seth of Environmental Action for Sustainable Transformation (EAST) explained the second year students about water conservation and power generation in Mulshi area. He also explained about the Western Ghat Biodiversity to the students. Mr Sharad Gund explained about the various types of snakes found in Mulshi and Tahmini. He also showed the various types of poisonous and non poisonous snakes in that area. The most common weeds viz the Mimosa pudica, Hibiscus angulosus, Leucas aspera, Phyllanthus neruri, Calotropis gigantea, Tridax procumbens, Parthenium hysterophorus and plants like Anona squamosa, Buchanania lanzan, Semecarpus anacardium, Dioscorea bulbifera and Aphanamixis polystachya were observed and studied by the students. The trip was arranged by Environmental Action for Sustainable Transformation (EAST). About 114 students of second year were present for the visit. The visit was coordinated by Mrs M. M Abhyankar. Mrs P. N Gawarkar and Mr. R. A. Gadekar were also present for the field visit.

Industrial Visit Dr. S. D. Sawant, Dr. (Mrs.) R. A. Rub, Dr. (Mrs). M. R. Ghante, Mrs. M. M. Abhyankar and Mrs. S. G. Jagtap visited Omni Active Health Technologies, Hinjawadi, Pune, on Friday, 26th October 2018. Dr. S. D. Sawant delivered a talk on “The therapeutic benefits of herbal and polyherbal formulations”.

Industrial Visit at Lupin Pharmaceuticals Ltd. for Semester III S. Y. B. Pharm students Two days industrial visit was organized by Sinhgad Technical Education Society's Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Pharmacy for Second year B. Pharm students at Lupin Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Aurangabad from 14/03/2019 to 15/03/2019. The visit included general overview of Pharmaceutical industries by HR Dept and also about company's growth and status. Total 94 students visited different departments and sections of pharmaceutical manufacturing such as, raw material storage, manufacturing (compression, granulation etc.) blister and strip packaging, finished product storage, and ware house, water system, filtration system, etc. The objective of this visit was to brief them with the functioning of various departments of a pharmaceutical industry thus helping them to grow as competent professionals.Faculty member Ms. Vidya S. Navasare coordinated the Industrial Visit accompanied by Dr. (Mrs) Arpana Patil, and Ms. Priyanka Nigde.

Environmental Field Trip for Semester II F. Y. B. Pharm students Environmental Field Trip was arranged on 18th March 2019 for F. Y. B. Pharm Students at Tamhini Ghat Mulshi. Total students present were 98. The trip included visit to Tata power plant project, Mulshi forest, Devrai (Sacred groves). Faculty member Ms. Vidya S. Navasare coordinated the field trip accompanied by Ms. Priyanka Nigde and Ms. Nikita Bagade.

Hospital Visit Hospital visit was organized for students of Second Year B. Pharmacy students on 23rd March 2019, as per curriculum under Pathophysiology and Clinical Biochemistry at STES's Smt. Kashibai Navale Medical College. All students were present for the visit. Students visited 3 depatments: Central pathology Lab, Microbiology dept. and Blood bank. The hospital staff was very co- operative. They explained details of different instruments like cryostat, microtome, ELISA etc. and various techniques to perform

28 Annual Report, 2018-19 required tests. Overall it was a good learning session for students. The hospital visit was co-ordinated by Ms. Smita Pillewan and was accompanied by Dr. (Mrs). Vandana Nikam and Mr. Rahul Takawale.

Haemoglobin Check-up Camp for Girl Students Haemoglobin check-up camp for girl students was organized by SKNCOP,Kondhwa, Pune on 22nd March, 2019. The activity was co- ordinated by Plus Pathology Laboratory, Hadapsar, Pune. The haemoglobin check up of 57 girl students was completed in this health check up camp. About 10 faculty members participated in the Haemoglobin camp. The overall activity was co-ordinated by Ms. P. S. Gawarkar. The reports for the same were received on 23rd March, 2019 and distributed to respective girl students and staff members.About 19 girl students were found to have Hb level less than 11.5 g/dl.These students were counseled for haemoglobin rich diet to be included in their regular meal.

NSS (National Service Scheme) Special Camp / Winter Camp: NSS (National Service Scheme) Special / Winter Camp were organized under the NSS scheme by STES, SKNCOP, Kondhwa (Bk.), Pune-48 at Sakurde Tal. Purandar Dist. Pune from 22nd Jan 2019 to 28th Jan 2019. Various activities such as cleaning of the base camp, surrounding of the primary school as well as grampanchayat office, funeral home & temples nearby, surrounding area of community drinking water, collection of garbage and waste, survey of Sakurde village, tree plantation outside the base camp, leveling of roads, building and embankment of water, making of trenches on terrain. This also helps to complete the objective of Amir Khan's Paani Foundation (screening construction work). Also conducted door to door survey of villagers for their health issues and social awareness activities, celebration of Republic Day in Zillah Parishad School & Sakurde high school, conducted funny game competitions for school students, conducted rally regarding social awareness. Various activities such as cleanliness, save the girl child, superstition-a myth, importance of youth etc., were carried out by the students. Savitribai Phule Pune University National service scheme program was inaugurated by Sarapanch Mrs. Shaila Jadhav of Sakurde grampanchayat. For inauguration, following dignitaries were present Prof. Wazal, Prof. K. M. Gaikawad, Prof. Rahul Takawale Prof. Digambar Dugude, Prof. Mrs. Navale, and elected body members of the grampanchayat. Dr. Digambar Durgude had delivered inaugural speech on Samarth Bharat Abhiyan and Challenges before youth. During the camp period various lectures were given by Mr. Anand Pawar on while understanding gender equality, Mr. Sougandh Deshmukh on Social Awareness, Mr. Shrikant Shankar on Indian Constitution and Responsible Citizen, Mr. Pravin Kad on NSS and Role of Youth, and Dr. Nitin Hande on Superstitions eradication, demonstration and scientific view, Dr. Popat Shinde on National Integrity. The programme was concluded with the address of API Mr. Ankush Mane, Dr. Popat Shinde, Dr. S. D. Sawant, Prof. Wazal, who addressed the students on teamwork, self-independence and importance of social work.

NSS (National Service Scheme) Regular activities:

International Yoga day 21st June 2018 On the occasion of International Day of Yoga, SKNCOP, Kondhwa Pune organized Yoga Session for the students, teaching and non- teaching staff and NSS volunteers on Thursday, 21st June 2018 at SIBAR Lawns between 9.30 am to 10.30 am. Yog Guru, Mr. Shrikantji Jagtap and Ms. Shambala of the Patanjali Yogpeeth were invited by the college, who took yoga session and emphasized the need of regular yoga & pranayams for all age groups. A group of 75 volunteers including Principal, teaching

Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Pharmacy, Kondhwa, Pune 29 & non-teaching staff and students actively participated in the yoga. The yoga session was coordinated by Mr. Ramesh Gadekar, NSS Program Officer and proposed vote of thanks at the end of the session.

Medicinal Tree Plantation Program 12th July 2018 Under the Harit Maharashtra campaign of the state government, SKNCOP, Kondhwa, Pune organized tree plantation program on 12th July 2018 in the medicinal garden of the college between 12.00 pm to 01.00 pm. Publicity – Behavior change respect of sanitization 25th September 2018 On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's 150th Jayanti,SKNCOP Kondhwa (Bk.), Pune organized Publicity program – Behavior change respect of sanitization on 25th Sept.2018. A group of 45 members including NSS volunteers, teaching & non-teaching staff and students actively participated in conduct of door to door meeting at Kondhwa village. Principal Dr. S. D. Sawant delivered a great speech on Dr. A.P.J. Kalam's life, his thoughts, simplicity etc. Also he explained his journey from a common man to a missile man to a President of India. Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 31st October, 2018 On the occasion of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel 143th Jayanti, SKNCOP Kondhwa (Bk.), Pune organized an elocution competition and celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas as a birth date of lohpurush Sardar Vallabh Bhai at Seminar hall SKNCOP, Kondhwa, Pune. The elocution competition was won by second year B.Pharm student Mr. Rahul Soundalgekar and runner up prize by second year M.Pharm student Mr. Rahul Dashputre. Professor Mrs. Preeti Lasure delivered a great speech on Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel life, his thoughts, simplicity etc. Assistant Professor Ms. Nikita Bagade explained the importance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. Parent Teacher Meet 2018-19 The first Parent Teacher Meet of this academic year was conducted on 7th September 2018 where 39 Parents interacted with the NAAC peer team on and witnessed the NAAC inspection on first Day. Second Parent Teacher meet was conducted on 9th March 2019. For the second Parent Teacher meet 59 parents visited SKNCOP on 9th March 2019. They interacted with Dr, S. D. Sawant & SKNCOP faculty and discussed about performance of their ward in odd semester examination, attendance in current semester. Dr. Vishal Zambre made them aware of efforts taken by Training & Placement Cell at SKNCOP.

Convocation Ceremony Fourth Convocation ceremony of 21 Sinhgad Institutes was held in 12th Feb 2019 at Vadgaon campus. Chief Guest for Convocation ceremony were Dr. Pandit Vidyasagar Ex Chancellor Swami Ramanand Tirth Marathwada University and Mr. Sanjay Nibandh Assistant Director Automotive Research of India.6428 students of different colleges participated in the ceremony.
