WOODEN PAC-12 COACH OF THE YEAR WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- In a vote of the league’s 12 head coaches, STANFORD senior Nnemkadi Ogwumike was voted the Pac-12 Player of the Year for the second time in three years, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today. Commissioner Scott also announced that younger sister and teammate sophomore Chiney Ogwumike was honored as the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, while WASHINGTON’s Jazmine Davis was selected the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year. STANFORD head coach Tara VanDerveer was also voted the John R. Wooden Coach of the Year by her col- leagues, the 12th time in her career and second-straight year she has won the award. The Conference Coach of the Year honor was renamed in honor of the late John R. Wooden, former legendary UCLA coach, during the 2010-11 campaign.
