Important Traffic Information for Race Day Roads affected into Brighton from 7.30am until 1.30pm

The Brighton hopes to be a fantastic event for A259 from Eastbourne will be diverted north at runners, residents, local commerce and retailers. This will be Residents living south of Church Road / New Church Road constructed from Saturday April 14th and in place until and west of Grand Avenue will have access all day on to Sunday April 15th. There will be a partial closure of Kingsway but will have no access onto Church Road Madeira Drive during this period. Residents living north of Church Road / New Church Road and west of Grand Avenue will have access all day on to Changes to the course: The Marathon route turns from Blatchington Road / Portland Road but will have no access St James Street onto Lower Rock Gardens instead of onto Church Road / New Church Road going all the way through to Eaton Road. This allows access to Upper St James Street and St George’s Road all day. Buses: Buses will be revising their Roads affected into Brighton from 7am until 11.30am timetable to work with the marathon and its runners. Various areas of the Marathon course are wheelchair friendly and so we hope that this caters for anyone with a Tesco Hove: Tesco’s is open as normal. There is no disability. In particular we would direct wheelchair users to access to the Car Park via Church Road. Access to and Hove Lawns area which is flat and accessible, Hove egress from the Car Park is via a purpose build entrance / Esplanade, Grand Avenue and certain areas of New Church exit which can be found on Haddington Road. Parking Bay Suspensions For runner and crowd safety there will be parking bay suspensions in order. Times and locations will be advertised and signage in place seven days before coming active.
