Awards for Best Display & Design at IHGF Delhi Fair - Autumn 2018

Mr. Anup Chandra Pandey, IAS, , Govt. of , graced the Display Awards Ceremony at IHGF Delhi Fair- Autumn 2018, held on 17th October 2018 at the Expo Centre and gave away the prestigious Awards for Best Design and Display. The occasion was also graced by Mr. Narendra Bhooshan, CEO, Industrial Development Authority(GNIDA); Mr. Arun Veer Singh, CEO, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Area (YEIDA); Mr. B N Singh, , Noida; Mr. Ajay Pal, SSP, Gautam Budh Nagar; and Ms. Dhanalakshmi K, Addl. Resident Commissioner, Uttar Pradesh. The delegates were welcomed and hosted by Mr. O P Prahladka, Chairman, EPCH; Vice Chairmen, EPCH-Mr. Ravi K Passi and Mr. Sagar Mehta; Ms. Jesmina Zeliang, President, Reception Committee, IHGF Delhi Fair-Autumn 2018; Vice Presidents, Reception Committee, IHGF Delhi Fair, Autumn 2018- Mr. Mohan Singh Bhati and Mr. Ahmed Akberali Sundrani; Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Executive Director, EPCH; and other prominent members of EPCH's Committee of Administration. While welcoming the Chief Guest, Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Executive Director, EPCH, spoke of Uttar Pradesh's contribution to India's total exports of handicrafts that stand at 45% and urged the State Government to emphasise on setting up of more common facility centres for artisans and exporters. He also mentioned that the State of Uttar Pradesh is the only state in the country that is having a state level Export Promotion Council and have also announced their ambitious one district one product project. Mr. Kumar said that EPCH is earnestly considering setting up of a Handicraft Park at Yamuna Expressway in 200 acres area. The park would be another ambitious project of EPCH after the India Expo Mart and will garner investment in this region and consequently, help people from small and cottage sector. Mr. Anup Chandra Pandey, IAS, Chief Secretary, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh informed that the project of one District one Product (ODOP) is focusing on development of handicrafts from the Uttar Pradesh and will be instrumental in strengthening crafts persons and exporters in the State. He appreciated EPCH on setting up various infrastructure projects in the State of UP for promotion and development of handicrafts such as Common Facility Center and the National Centre for Photo and Picture Framing Technology, Technology Upgradation Center at Saharanpur; Resource Center at Moradabad; and most importantly, the state-of-the-art India Expo Centre & Mart at Greater Noida.
