But none of these should come in the way of our indiannes, of our being an Indian. DEVELOPMENTS WITH REFERENCE TO NORTH EASTERN REGION 1. On 5th February, 2014, a Committee has been constituted under the Chairmanship of Shri M.P. Bezbaruah, IAS (Retd.) to look into the concerns of the persons hailing from the North Eastern States living in different parts of the county, especially the Metropolitan areas and to suggest suitable remedial measures which could be taken by C O N T E N T S the Government. The first meeting of the Committee was held on 12th February, 2014. DEVELOPMENTS WITH REFERENCE TO NORTH EASTERN REGION 2. Joint Secretary (NE), MHA visited Assam on 5th February, 2014 to review the security situation in Assam including situation along ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT UNDER CIVIC ACTION PROGRAMME BY CENTRAL ARMED Assam-Arunachal Border. (vi) On 3rd February, 2014, 15-Assam Rifles constructed an extension to the existing multipurpose community hall at Wangkhem village, district Thoubal, Manipur. (vii) On 4th February, 2014, 15-Assam Rifles constructed a boundary fencing wall for the Keirambi Primary School, Thoubal district, Manipur. 5. Solar Street Lights. (i) On 3rd February, 2014, 14-Assam Rifles donated four solar street lights to Tsosinyu village, district Kohima, Nagaland. (ii) On 6th February, 2014, 36-Assam Rifles donated solar lantern and solar street lights to Mazbat and Dhekiajuli villages, district Sonitpur, Assam. During the visit, the students visited number of places of interest at Delhi and Agra. (ii) 22-Assam Rifles organised a NIT for the students from Thoubal district, Manipur to Mumbai and Pune from 10th to 23rd February, 2014. During the tour, the students visited various tourist places at Mumbai and Pune including the National Defence Academy and Armed Forces Medical College. (iii) 20-Assam Rifles organised a National Integration Tour (NIT) for the students of Chandel district, Manipur to Delhi and Agra from 12th to 23rd February, 2014. During the visit, the students visited various places of interest at Delhi and Agra. Interaction with the Hon’ble Minister of State, Shri RPN Singh and Union Home Secretary, Shri Anil Goswami, were one of the high points of the visit for the children of Manipur. (iv) 11-Assam Rifles organised an Education-cum-Motivation Tour for the students of Kohima district, Nagaland Computers with accessories distributed by Assam Rifles to Kaziranga National Park, Assam from 15th to 17th February, 2014.
