National and Regional Boards Committee meets, hears plan for worldwide certification boards society

he WFO Committee on National and Regional Boards met Tin Washington, D.C., USA on May 4, 2018, with participants learning about the proposed Society of Orthodontic Specialty Certification Boards and changes to the Board certification process in the United States.

In attendance at the meeting were representatives of the 19 orthodontic specialty boards that have volunteered to participate in activities of the WFO Committee on National & Regional Orthodontic Boards. The committee has been active since 2005, organizing meetings and successful symposiums at the 7th and 8th International Orthodontic Congresses in Sydney and London, respectively. The 17th International Orthodontic Congress of the Chillean Society of Orthodontists took place in the CentroParque Convention Centre in Santiago de Chile, August 22-24. PALESTINIAN ORTHODONTIC SOCIETY

The Palestinian Orthodontic Society organized a one-day symposium titled Orthodontics Gen-Next which took place June 29 in Ramallah, Palestine. The conference focused on advances in orthodontic research, temporary devices (TADS) and digital technologies in orthodontics. The president of the POS, Dr. Saad Nafaa, welcomed delegates who included the entire membership of the Society, saying, “The POS is committed to upgrading its orthodontic learning and offering world class treatment options to the population in the region.” The speaker for the symposium was Dr. Nikhilesh R.
