Empowering quality child care.

2017-2018 Annual Impact Report

Child Care Council, Inc. Parent referrals. Provider training. Business support.

Dear Friends of Child Care Council,

Addressing the issues affecting child care - such as the high cost of care for families, low wages for child care staff and early educators, and the impact of unstable arrangements on employers - won’t happen overnight. Yet, Child Care Council remains relentless in our pursuit of empowering quality child care in the Finger Lakes region. Our work ranged from enhancing provider quality through our education and training programs, to expanding education and certifications for Council staff. We also worked to improve child care quality through a host of programs and services, such as providing free and enhanced referrals for parents, enabling employers to offer free child care referrals to their employees, and guiding entrepreneurs starting a child care business. During 2017 and 2018, we made great strides in improving the quality of child care in the region. This annual report details the Council’s outcomes in the past two years, highlighted by department. These accomplishments were achieved through the dedication of our staff and leadership team, the commitment of our board of directors, and the support of our funders and donors. Thank you for your ongoing support our agency. Sincerely,

Barbara-Ann Mattle CEO Eric Haselbauer Board President
