Timber Timbre is Taylor Kirk, Simon Trottier and Mika Posen.

The Canadian trio’s fourth release, Creep On Creepin’ On, is a striking, transcendent record filled with heartrending compositions that engage, transport and challenge.

Released in April 2011, it has earned the band endless acclaim at home, where it was short listed for the and nominated for two 2012 JUNO Awards including Alternative Album of the Year.

Celebration has been equally abundant abroad, where the album has helped the band earn shows supporting Jonsi, Feist, Laura Marling and Lykke Li as well as headline shows in theatres and cathedrals throughout Europe.

Creep On Creepin’ On represents the full realization of Timber Timbre’s ability to simultaneously invoke and disguise the most essential elements of pop and rock music with chilling authenticity.

From guttural groans on lead track “Bad Ritual” to the eerie doo-wop pleas of “Lonesome Hunter”, the album is textured and commanding, stirring proof of the unwavering powers of obsession and possession.

Creep On Creepin’ On was produced by Timber Timbre and engineered by Kees Dekker at The Treatment Room and inside a converted church studio with Grammy Award winner Mark Lawson.

The album also includes appearances by acclaimed pianist Mathieu Charbonneau and saxophonist , a pair the band credits with elevating the caliber of the album’s arrangements and its overall sound.

And while settings and collaborators continue to change for Timber Timbre, the guiding inspiration behind the songs has not.

“The idea is to make music we love and therefore embrace the risk of sounding like all the music we’ve ever loved, all at once,” Kirk explains.

The result is Timber Timbre’s most brilliant and robust offering to date, a collection of 10 songs that incorporates rich and varied melodies, affecting lyricism and evocative vintage instrumentation.

With Creep On Creepin’ On, Timber Timbre has succeeded in reaching a place it was long destined for, where its music is as powerful and extraordinary as it has always been unmistakable. www.timbertimbre.com www.facebook.com/timbertimbre www.arts-crafts.ca/artists/timbertimbre
