LEE EVANS NIGHT ON

Channel 4 will dedicate a whole night of comedy to the brilliant career of Lee Evans. Due to air on Channel 4 on Fri 30 th December 2011, Lee Evans Night sees Lee personally introduce all four programmes which showcase compilations of his best-selling stand up DVDs and previous comedy shows from the mid nineties on Channel 4.

The evening kicks off at 9.30pm with Access All ArenasArenas which features all of the hilarious moments taken from Lee’s first three arena tours including: Wired and Wonderful - Live at Wembley (2002 ), The XL Tour ( 2005) and Big - Live at The 02 (2008), all introduced by the great man himself. Next up at 10.35pm is the 30 minute special An EveningEvening with Lee Evans (1993 – the year Lee won the Perrier Award). The Lee Evans Christmas special was recorded at the Duke of York's Theatre where Lee demonstrates the full range of his unique talents, from the acrobatic to the verbal - including his silent rendition of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. At 11.05pm, two episodes will air back to back of the 1996 BAFTA nominated series, The World of Lee EvansEvans.Evans The Late Shift & Meet the Folks are two short dramas featuring Lee getting stuck in tight situations. The Late Shift sees Lee play an attendant at an all-night garage helping out a customer ( John Thomson ) on his first night on the job. Finally at 11.35pm, a 30 minute episode from The WorldWorld of Lee Evans called One Late Night sees Lee star alongside Phil Daniels. The show is pure comedy horror. Lee, driving down the motorway at night decides to pick up mysterious hitchhiker Phil Daniels. But the radio is warning the anxious public that there's a murderer on the loose. The recently released Lee Evans’ autobiography Life Of Lee (Penguin Books), the current number one Sunday Times best seller is available to buy now. The book has currently sold an impressive 133k copies to date in six weeks. Lee Evans latest DVD ‘ Lee Evans Roadrunner Live At The 02 (Universal Pictures UK) is currently number one in the stand up comedy DVD chart and number 2 in the overall charts. The DVD, released Nov 21 st , has currently sold a staggering 166k during its first week. A 3D version, a first for a UK , was released a week later on Nov 28 th .
