We celebrate the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Pastor’s Corner Christi): In our Gospel Passage (John 6:51-58), Jesus declares, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven.” What does He mean? Unlike this present world characterized by impermanence, constantly evolving (cf. Matt 24:35); heaven is the transcendental realm, the supernatural order: no alteration or change but enduring forever (cf. Isa 25:6-9; 1Cor 15:54; Rev 21:4). Plato’s philosophical depiction comes handy: he called this world the world of becoming, the world of things as they appear to be: like shadows or images, mirage, reflection; something symbolic, not real; and he called the metaphysical reality the world of forms, the world of things as they are: the real, unchangeable; the prototypes or archetypes of things on earth. That is very helpful in articulating the teaching of Christ on the Bread that came down from heaven. Jesus was speaking about the SUPERNATURAL BREAD, LIVING BREAD OF THE REAL PRESENCE. It is NOT A SYMBOL, NOT A REPERESENTATION because it is not bread from the earth. Hence, unlike other forms of bread on earth which we eat and die, “whoever eats this bread will live forever.” Second and more importantly, “the bread that I shall give you is my flesh.” Hence, Corpus Christi is about the Eternal Word of God who is God, became flesh and dwelt among us (cf. John 1: 1, 14). Because the Eucharist lives forev- er, it is the gift that keeps giving (cf. John 10:10; John 6:35); giving birth to the Church, the Body of Christ. To this end, the Eucharist is indispensable for reconciliation in our divided world, for peace and unity (cf. Eph 2:14-17), as in our Second Reading (1Cor 10:16-17), “Because the loaf of bread is one, we, though many, are one body.” BIBLE VERSE OF THE WEEK: “For Christ has entered, not into a sanctuary made with hands, a copy of the true one, but into heaven itself” (Heb 9:24). OUR CATHOLIC APPEAL 2020: Many thanks to those who have made their pledges. If you have not, please, call the office to mail you an Appeal envelope (321-725-3066) or kindly use the online donation option on our website: ourladyofgrace- church.com. We need you! Next Weekend: Father’s Day (June 21). May God bless you. Amen.

Appreciation of the Staff:

Sending a card of thanks and offering of prayer for all that each of you have done, and are still doing, for the- OLOG Family. You were opened and working when we needed you, you answered our questions, kept us informed of policies, procedures & general information, and you continued to publish the bulletin. All the while you were cleaning, painting, sanitizing, reorganizing, and conducting regular business. In the midst of all of this you began live streaming & recording Mass, making it available on You Tube. Just when we were missing our OLOG family the most, you were there. The Mass was shared with the community. There in front of us was our priest and deacon. Our music directors acting as choir and cantors and our office manager, Pastoral Associate, and office assistant serving as readers, sacristans, video operators, cleaning crew, and OUR CHURCH! Alleluia! Maintenance and custodians are making sure our sanctuary space is cleaned and sanitized. I appreciate the “written” homilies from Fr. Emmanuel. It affords me the opportunity to research any words I am unfamiliar with, including the spelling, instead of guessing what was said. Thank you to all of the deacons that have been assisting at Mass. I could go on and on but everyone still is sanitizing the church after all Masses, helping throughout the Masses, and hopefully taping the Masses for those of us who are uncomfortable at returning to church at this time. Speaking, I am sure, for the OLOG community our love, prayers, and appreciation go out to each and every staff member. Than you for being you. God Bless you all. From a thankful parishioner

From the Office Manager:

This is why we do what we do. These words meant A LOT to us as it is always nice to be appreciated. As I have said several times in the last few weeks. If these months have not proven we work as a team I do not- know what will. I truly appreciate all the staff has been doing and working as a TEAM and we will continue to do so to get us through these changing times. God Bless all of you.
