Someries Castle was built in the 15th Century as the manor house of Sir John Wenlock. Considered to be one of the first brick building in the country, only the gatehouse and a part of the adjoining chapel still stand today. There have been many allegations of paranormal activity at the sight, with some even claiming to have seen a ghostly apparition of Sir John Lord Wenlock who died in 1471.
