FACULTY LEADER Steve Swayne, professor of music, teaches courses in opera and art music, as well as American musical theater and Russian music. A 2008 recipient of a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Humanities, he has published two books on American musical theater and numerous articles in various scholarly journals. Professor Swayne is an accomplished concert pianist, with four nationally distributed recordings currently in release. In addition to his work at Dartmouth, he has taught at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and at UC Berkeley.
