About the Band…….

The Bold City Brass Band is located in Jacksonville Florida, drawing musi- cians from Northeast Florida. As a volunteer group, the Bold City Brass Band comprises multi groups including a British style brass band, and tra- ditional brass quintets and quartets. Having formed over 25 years ago, The Bold City Brass Band started as a continuation of one of the oldest historic brass bands in Florida, the 3rd Florida Regimental Band. It played neither Saint John’s Cathedral all British nor all American music in that they played on a variety of old brass instruments from both continents. British brass bands are up to 20 instruments while the American counterparts were normally smaller around Presents

12 instruments. Over the years, the Band has transformed into its current configuration, playing for special events in the North Florida area including, St. Augustine’s “Night the Lights”, special concerts, weddings, and church services. The Bold City Brass Band also presents educational programs to

both public and private schools, introducing young students to the family of brass instruments, how they produce sound and the different types and styles of music, utilizing special arrangements written for the Band as well as live demonstrations involving interaction and participation by the stu- dents.
