An integral part of our inclusive approach to education is our highly effective pastoral support for all students.

Each Year Group has a Pastoral Team led by a year co-ordinator and supported by a Pastoral Support Officer who is available to students throughout the day. The Year Team exists to help pupils succeed throughout their life at school. In addition, our committed Learning Support Team ensure that every student, regardless of ability, is given an equal opportunity to access the curriculum and achieve their maximum potential.

Our aim is to raise levels of enjoyment and achievement for all our students and promote equal opportunities for all.

Beyond the classroom we offer a broad range of enrichment opportunities

At Harper Green we believe that a wide range of extra-curricular activities and experiences is required to produce mature, responsible, well-rounded young adults.

A range of educational visits and residential trips provides a broad mixture of new skills and experiences which bring fun and enjoyment. Students also benefit from a wide range of clubs and sporting activities provided during lunch-times and also after school.

We are very proud of the partnerships we enjoy with the local community. Students and staff also take part in regular, community-based activities such as Arts Festival, gardening and other environmental projects with Council.

‘There is a broad range of enrichment opportunities, enhanced by the school’s specialism.’ Ofsted 2011
