One critical segment of our community continues to grow and remain steadfast – our annual benefactors. Without your support our vision and mission cannot be realized. And for that I am so very thankful. The Malvern Prep community has been blessed with offering 175 years of Augustinian education. And that community includes a diverse members, including passionate faculty and alumni, students eager to learn, dedicated administration and staff, loving parents, and loyal benefactors. The Augustinian tradition thrives on community and Malvern’s community continues to flourish and prosper. So beautifully stated in the recent issue of the Malvern Magazine, “Malvern is a special place, and is so because we are grounded in the more than 1,600-year history of Augustinian tradition. St. Augustine was a profound theologian and scholar, whose teachings have shaped not only Catholic doctrine but also Western philosophy. Augustinian thought concerning love, humility, reflection, self-determination and community, among other topics, was revolutionary, and it still inspires us today. In fact, Augustine’s teachings align beautifully with the best practices in student-centered learning. Our 175th anniversary is a chance to celebrate our Augustinian heritage and to highlight one of the school’s most distinguishing characteristics – as an Augustinian school we believe the best way to learn, to serve, and to find God is with others.” I am excited to report that once again, thanks to the efforts and generosity of the entire community, Malvern received over $1.8 million in philanthropic support. The Malvern Fund received $840,106 in gifts while B.A.S.H. and the Fr. Duffy Golf Outing brought in over $325,000 and through the Pennsylvania EITC/OSTC Tax credit programs Malvern received over $226,000. Our Duffy Augustinian Scholars program continues to gain momentum as an increasing amount of endowed scholarships are being created through the generosity of our donors. In addition, the Friar Club and Christian Service gifts continue to raise critical resources. I would like to thank the Development committee, Bryan Forcino ’96 and the Alumni Association, our class agents, Development staff and all parent and alumni volunteers who impacted this year’s philanthropic success. To our faithful donors listed on the following pages, please accept my sincere thanks and gratitude. To each generous donor and volunteer, I say “Thank You” for helping to develop the creative, spiritual, and intellectual potential in our students, which in turn fosters their religious and ethical values and a sense of social responsibility.
