CONCLUSION:

The choice of Modena embodies the desire to give continuity to a cultural tradition that characterized the Duchy of Este in its history as a nerve center of international diplomacy. Today's Modenese production districts highlight the historicity of a technical competence and a productive foresight that has allowed structuring a solid entrepreneurial network, a way of conceiving the various kind of industry and artistry Japanese people and entrepreneurs have always demonstrated to follow. The occasion is dictated by the desire to celebrate these two historical journeys and to create links between the cultures of the two countries.

The initiative was conceived at the same time as the procedure for discussing and approving the International Trade Agreement between the European Union and Japan, whose implementation envisages, starting from 2019, a process of progressive adoption and gradual adjustment of the economic conditions of relations between the two markets.

The committee, in fact, provides for the drafting of a technical sheet, for use of local companies, to disclose the potential deriving from the Agreement, and to promote the acquisition of skills and strategic relationships for the expansion on the Japanese market. At the same time, in collaboration with other organizations acting in various ways in promoting relations with Japan, the committee will work to promote the identification of potential cooperation opportunities.

The local character of the Modena initiative, therefore, aims to develop an analytical and operational model that can be replicated in any other Italian context, in the desire to guarantee respect and promote the valorization of the production peculiarities of each territory.
