Yobe North (Covering Bade, , Nguru, Machina, , , and LGAs) LCG Online Meeting Minutes Gashua, Bade LGA – 11 December 2020

Participants: Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and SEMA (facilitator), OCHA (co-facilitator), WFP, FAO, ACF, CCDRN, COOPI, TCDI, Yobe Network of CSOs and Government (MDAs): 14 Participants from Government MDAs, UN agencies, INGOs and National NGOs.

Key humanitarian issues

 Activities of NSAG in Geidam and Yunusari LGAs continue to pose threat to the activities of humanitarian partners in the areas; some partners have withdrawn their field staff from Geidam and Yunusari. The recent attack in villages around Geidam LGA is raising concern among humanitarian actors  Farmers and headers clashes in Bade, Nguru, Karasuwa and Jakusko LGAs continue to pose threat to humanitarian activities in the areas.  Yusufari and Yunusari LGAs have operational locations where partners operate with limited or non-available phone network thus limiting communication.  Humanitarians are advised to develop stronger network with interlocutors in their areas of operation and also liaise with NNGOs who may have in-depth understanding of the local context and ability to source valid information which may be useful making security decisions.

. Training of 204 health workers in these LGAs in SRH . Group meetings, training and group formation . So far the VSLA groups in Yobe saved 5,020,340 as Shares, 2,654,250 as social funds and 1,719,000 loan disbursed. . Most groups supported their members with food stuffs during the COVID Crisis.

. SBCC training

BRICC Project (EU funded): Covering Hausari, Asheikri, Shame-Kura, Ma’anna and Futchimiram

. Conducted community dialogue sessions in Hausari, Asheikri, Ma’ana, Shame-kura and Kolori Communities with Community Resilience Groups Members and Few Community Leaders in attendance. The aim of the session is to identify causes of conflicts in these communities and also to help the communities manage existing conflicts and also find lasting solutions to address the main drivers of conflicts in their communities. . Conducted unconditional cash distribution to 3225HHs in Yunusari to help the households meet their basic needs. . Began the training of 970 youths (male and female) in Yunusari, these youths were selected out of the 5000HHs selected in Yunusari LGAs. The youths will be trained on vocational skills were artisans were selected from the four communities of our implementation and now the training is in progress. . Trained 952 small holder farmers post-planting operation and livestock management. . Conduct monitoring of 45 Savings and Investment Associations in Geidam LGA.

ACF: SDC (Swiss Development Corporation), GAC (Global Affairs Canada) and DFID (Department for international Development). SDC is supporting FSL (Agro/Eco strengthening). SDC project is carried out in 12 communities across Balle and Jororo wards. ACF is working with three donors SDC (Swiss Development Corporation), GAC (Global Affairs Canada) and DFID (Department for International Development) funding WINNN project which is supporting Stabilization center in Geidam General Hospital.
