AGREEMENT

In the form of two Exchanges of Letters amending the Agreement of 5 June 1970 between the European Economic Community and Spain on certain

Upon the conclusion of the consultations which were held at die request of the Spanish Delegation with a view to . modifying the threshold prices fixed by the Agreement of 5 June 1970 between Spain and the European Economic Community and amended by the Agreement of 12 June 1972 for imports into Spain of certain cheeses,, I note that the Spanish Delegation and the delegation of the Commission of the European Com­ munities have agreed on the following :

1 . — the threshold prices applied by Spain to imports of , inclusive of the regulatory duty, — the free-at-Spanis'h frontier prices to be observed before customs clearance, corresponding to the above threshold prices, — and the customs duties for the tariff headings in question, are given below :

With reference to the exchange of letters initialled this day by our delegations concerning the threshold prices and free-at-Spanish frontier prices to be observed for certain cheeses , I note that, with regard to tariff subheading 04.04 Gl b3 ( Edam , Gouda, etc .) the preferen­ tial margin between the threshold price applicable in respect of non-Community coun­ tries and that applicable in respect of the Community has not been modified and is main­ tained at 630 pesetas/ 100 kg . The corresponding free-at-Spanish frontier price to be observed by the Community is consequently fixed at 9 763 pesetas/ 100 kg . I should be grateful if you would confirm whether you are in agreement with the fore­ going . Please accept, Sir, the assurance of my highest consideration .
