Posted by Viruk on Tue, 05 Dec 2006 16:30:00 GMT View Forum Message <> Reply to Message Hi everyone, just a question and I'm sure everyone has their own opinions, their own different styles of play and whatever but...lets say you get to start JA2 with $10 million and could choose any mercs you want, equip them how you want but the only caveat is that you kept the group to 6 mercs. Which 6 would you choose and what weapons/armor would you give them?

This has probably been talked about before but I'm still a newbie to the forums :headbanger: hehe.

Main reason I was asking was, well...I've played through JA2 without mods 3 or 4 times...but I've only ever played my own way, it's only the past month or so that I've been reading other people's ways...opinions...things like that, so was looking for other perspectives on what guns to use. It gets boring when you use the same stuff over and over.

Right now I have...

Trevor with a FN-F2000

Scully with a HKG3A3

Shadow with a silenced P90

Ivan with a SiG SG542

Lynx with a VSS

And...

Magic with a FN-SCAR-H

Just trying to play through with a perfect team and with good weapons since my last game I played through without cheats or mods...I feel like a bit of relaxation and easy kills.

Not sure what I'll do next, I've never actually used a mod yet other than the 1.13 patch if that counts. Maybe I'll do that.

I'm just trying to play around, try new things. After I complete it again...it's time to try some mods.

Hire razor as soon as you take the drassen sam, focus on q+razors mrk early in the game. When razors prac/student mrk no longer is getting results (progression of 1) start training him as an emergency medic. Stephen's got a decent enough EXP that if you find mine training cheating, you can still get him to a reasonable level by training, and/or by setting off lots of explosives in the game. if razor isn't your cup of tea, sidney would play a very similar role, with the added bonus of sidney likes/grows to like stephen, to go with the magic/ice teamwork bonus.

I always have Grizzly with a mortar off in a safe spot on the edge of a map with a couple people (the doctors) to watch him (and carry ammo) while my silent team scouts things out. If they spot a group of foes or get pinned down then Grizzly can rain down death from afar. In my current game I almost wish I had made my IMP be a heavy weapons specialist. The start would have been a bit harder but now that the foes have mortars I could sure use more heavy support.

I prefer to attack Deidranna's forces at night, since it much more easier to avoid damage, as well puts the enemy at disavantage, provided that you have at least one NO merc to spot the enemies

For night squads is also a good idea to put Razor and equip him with throwing knifes, he doesn't have NO skill, but since he needs only 3 hours of sleep per day, he can take down enemies at night before he finally feels sleepy (Hey, even Razor needs to sleep, no? ).
