Celebrating Tu B’Shvat – Sunday, January 20: Observe our Jewish “New Years for Trees!” On the 15th of Shevat, underground roots stir in Israel, with almond blossoms bursting along the Judean Hills emerging after winter hibernation. This annual botanical phenomenon is marked as the proverbial “New Year for Trees. Torah-true tradition ordains that we observe this unique day on the Jewish calendar not by planting trees, but rather by eating fruits - especially those mentioned in praise of the Holy Land: grapes, figs, pomegranates, olives & dates.
