Texas entered Saturday ranked third in the nation with a .544 success rate on third downs this season. INDIVIDUAL NOTES QB • Completed 31-of-44 passes for 399 yards and four . Also carried the ball 14 times for 91 yards. • Through seven games, Ehlinger has thrown for 2,057 yards and 21 touchdowns, and accounted for 26 total touchdowns. All of those rank as the top seven-game marks in school history. • Has accounted for 67 total touchdowns (46 pass/21 rush) since the start of the 2018 season. • Has passed for at least four touchdowns on four occasions, the most in school history. • Has passed for at least three touchdowns on five occasions this season, tying Colt McCoy for the school record. McCoy achieved the feat in both 2008 and 2009. • His 399 passing yards makes him the first Texas QB since Colt McCoy in 2007 to throw for at least 200 yards in each of the first seven games of a season. • His 31 completions made him the third player in Texas history to complete at least 600 passes. After Saturday, his total stands at 610. • His 399 passing yards made him the sixth Texas to throw for at least 7,000 yards. After Saturday, he now has 7,264 yards, which is the fifth most in Texas history. • After compiling 490 yards of total offense (399 pass/91rush), he now ranks third in school history with 8,449 career yards. He surpassed James Brown (8,049) and Major Applewhite (8,059) on that list Saturday night. WR Devin Duvernay • Caught eight passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns. • His eight catches brought his career total to 131, pushing him past Eric Metcalf and Lil’Jordan Humphrey (125 each) for the 10th-most receptions in Texas history. • Has caught 61 passes to surpass Jordan Shipley (58 in 2009) for the most catches by a Texas WR through seven games in school history. • In four home games this season, he has made 41 catches (entered with 33) for 427 yards and six touchdowns. WR Collin Johnson • Caught eight passes for 96 yards. • Has caught at least one pass in his last 31 games, tied with Jordan Shipley for the fourth-longest streak in school history. • Surpassed Kwame Cavil (2,279) for eighth place on Texas' all-time receiving yards list. He now has 2,351 receiving yards (enterd with 2,255) in his career. WR Brennan Eagles • Hauled in a career-high six passes for 76 yards and one touchdown. • His touchdown was a five-yard catch and was his fifth touchdown reception this season. All five TD catches have come at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. WR Jake Smith • Caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from QB Sam Ehlinger, his fifth touchdown reception this season. He entered Saturday tied for the most touchdown receptions by a freshman (4) in the FBS this season. TE Cade Brewer • Caught a career-high three passes for a career-high 71 yards. Also caught a career-long 51 yard pass. RB Keaontay Ingram • Rushed for 101 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries • It was his third career 100-yard game and his second of the season (career-high 114 yards vs. Oklahoma State). QB/RB Roschon Johnson • Finished with 11 carries for 46 yards and one touchdown. • His touchdown came on a 14-yard run that capped the game’s opening drive. It was his second career rushing touchdown. LB Joseph Ossai • Blocked the first kick of his career on Kansas’ 37-yard field goal try just before halftime. It was the first blocked FG by a Longhorn since Caden Sterns versus USC in 2018. DB D'Shawn Jamison • Recovered a blocked PAT in the fourth quarter and returned it for a defensive two-point conversion, UT's first since Oct. 2012 vs. Oklahoma. DL Malcolm Roach • Blocked a Kansas PAT in the fourth quarter, which D'Shawn Jamison returned for a defensive two-point conversion. LB David Gbenda • Made his first career start.
