FRIDAY 6th MAY
09.00 Depart to Schloss Stetteldorf am Wagram 10.00 Private tour given by the owner, Mr. Georg von Stradiot
The Count Julius II von Hardegg built in 1580 Castle Stetteldorf in a renaissance style. Then, in 1705, the owners undertook a baroque remodeling. However, after the war ended in 1945, the buildings and all the equipment were destroyed. For many years, the owner Georg Stradiot worked hard to rehabilitate the architecture and endangered object. He also made great effort to restore the original state of the castle. 12.00 Depart to Schloss Rosenburg Greetings by the owner, Count Markus 13.00 Hoyos- Lunch in Schloss Rosenburg
The Renaissance castle of Rosenburg with its medieval core, splendid Renaissance arcades, numerous towers and impressive courtyard is considered to be the perfect example of a fortification having gradually evolved over the course of the centuries. Its history dates back to the 12th century, with a first written record attesting a castle was already erected. During the 15th century, the castle was significantly extended and adapted to gothic style. However, at the end of the next century and after several changes of ownership, most of the Gothic parts were destroyed and rebuilt in Renaissance style. The year 1681 is a landmark date within the history of castle Rosenburg: two dynasties merged and landlords were onwards called “von Hoyos-Sprinzenstein”. Since that year, the castle remained under the ownership of the Hoyos family until today. Programme
FRIDAY 6th MAY

Today the castle offers to different images to visitors. The South wing, since the renovation on the late 19th century, offers a Romanesque-gothic revival style, whereas the elderly forest-part dates from the 15th century and reveals early gothic construction, especially the defense tower.
