WITHDRAWALS Competitors are required to give the earliest possible notice if they are obliged to scratch from the event. To withdraw, please telephone the Secretary’s office on 01737 817630 and give your name, player number, and starting time. Please note that under item 1(d) of the Conditions of Play, attached to the Entry Form, entry fees are not returnable. Any telephone call informing us of your scratching must be confirmed to the Secretary, Walton Heath Golf Club, by email or letter.

EQUIPMENT AND VALUABLES Please ensure that your clubs and the rest of your equipment are safely stored. Valuable items may be left in lockers in the Clubhouse. Please note that Walton Heath Golf Club cannot be held responsible for any loss of or damage to any equipment or personal possessions.

REGISTRATION Competitors are required to register at the tournament desk situated in the Renshaw Room in the Clubhouse, where you will receive the following: a) A label with your personal player number for affixing to your bag b) A copy of the Conditions of Competition, the Local Rules applicable to the event, and a Note of Safety Procedures.

PRACTICE ON THE COURSES Courtesy of the courses for practice is offered to all competitors as follows: Sunday 18th July 12:00 – 17:00 – New Course Monday 19th July 08:00 – 13:00 – Old Course To book a practice time for these two days, please telephone the Professional’s Shop on 01737 812152. Play will be in fourballs. One ball only may be used, other than where permitted by the Rules of Golf, WITH THIS EXCEPTION: If a player misses a green with a shot to the green he may play one additional shot. Please adhere to this requirement for the benefit of all competitors.

DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES Players should be aware that there will be a local rule permitting use of devices which measure or gauge distance only.

CADDIES Professional Caddies may be booked through the Caddie Master on 07920 813020.

TROLLEYS There are approximately 50 pull trolleys at a charge of £5, electric trolleys at a charge of £15 per round (advisable to book these in advance), available for hire from the Professional.

PRACTICE FACILITIES 1. The main practice area is on Beechams Field, which is on the far side of the Dorking Road from the Clubhouse. Competitors must use the Club’s balls. Tokens are available from the Professional Shop at a cost of £2.50 a basket during practice days and complimentary during tournament days. 2. There is a small practice area including a green and three bunkers on the far side of the Dorking Road to the left of the 2nd tee of the Old Course. This may be used for pitching, chipping or bunker practice. Pitches must be played from behind the lines laid out by the greens staff in the direction indicated. Competitors must use their own golf balls. Competitors are reminded to take great care when crossing the Dorking Road to and from these practice areas. In addition, in the case of the second practice area they must beware of players driving from the 2nd tee (Old Course) and playing to the 18th greens of both courses. 3. There is a small chipping area behind the 1st tee of the Old Course. – Note. This area may have to be closed during the first two days of the Championship if it is required for use as an overflow car park. 4. The practice putting green is situated outside the Clubhouse. 5. There are two practice nets (indoors) next to the putting green.

DRESS CODE Smart casual dress will be permitted in the Clubhouse during practice days and the Championship itself. This excludes jeans and collarless T-shirts. Shorts may be worn but must be tailored and may be worn with long socks or short predominately white socks. Golfing shoes and caps may not be worn in the Clubhouse, other than in the locker rooms and corridors leading thereto. Competitors may use the Members’ locker room as well as the Visitors’. Mobile telephones for the purpose of making phone calls, may only be used in the main car park.

CLUBHOUSE CATERING The Clubhouse will be open from 07:00 on Monday and at 0600 on all three days of the event. Coffee and bacon rolls will be available from 0700 on Monday, 0630 on Tuesday and Wednesday and 0600 on Thursday. Competitors lunches are included for the three tournament days only. A running buffet will be available from 11:00 till 16:30 Tuesday through Thursday and from 10:00 till 15:00 on Thursday. All food must be eaten in the Dining Room or on the terrace outside the Clubhouse.

STARTING TIMES A list of starting times is included herewith. Competitors will be notified when registering if there have been any changes. It is the responsibility of each competitor to report to the starter at least five minutes before his scheduled starting time. Competitors are reminded that the first tee of the New Course is on the far side of the very busy Dorking Road. Please ensure you give yourself plenty of time to get there. ANY PLAYER WHO IS LATE ON THE TEE MAY BE PENALISED OR DISQUALIFIED.

SCOREBOARDS The main scoreboard will be affixed to the Clubhouse wall opposite the door of the Professional’s Shop. On-course scoreboards will be situated close to the 10th tee of the Old Course and the 10th tee of the New Course. During the Championship you will be asked by officials at these locations for your score for the first 9 holes relative to for the round you are playing.

RECORDING SCORES On the conclusion of each round you must report your score to the Recorders, who will be in the Exhibition area, which is situated on the left-hand side of the road leading up to the Professional’s Shop. You will be given ample opportunity to first check over your score with your marker. Members of the Press will be located in this area and you are requested to give them full cooperation should they require information on your round.

EMERGENCIES Competitors are requested to make themselves familiar with the emergency procedures and fire exits within the Clubhouse. Several members of the Club’s staff are First Aid trained. Should anyone require their assistance please contact any official who is in possession of a radio. Details of the nearest doctor’s and dentist’s surgery and of the nearest hospital are available from the Secretary’s office.

HEALTH & SAFETY A major part of the event’s Health & Safety policy is the procedure for dealing with a dangerous situation occurring during play. A copy of procedures is enclosed herewith. It will also appear in the Conditions of Competition and on each of the 1st tees. Competitors are urged to make themselves aware of the procedures and to assist the Club’s officials in every way should a situation arise.

QUALIFICATION FOR THE FINAL DAY’S PLAY After 36 holes the leading 40 competitors, and those tying for 40th place, will play a further 36 holes on the third day (Thursday 22nd July). The draw for the third day’s play will be produced as soon as practicable upon completion of the second round. Starting times will be posted on the main scoreboard. They will also be shown on the website at www.waltonheath.com and you will be sent your starting time to the email you have provided. You may also use the BlueGolf link. In addition, they may be obtained by telephoning 01737 817630, times to be advised on the day.

PRESENTATION OF PRIZES The presentation of prizes will follow as soon as is practicable after the last competitors have completed their round or the sudden death play-off has been concluded.
