Conference 2010 MADNet Museums and Schools Working in Partnership

The MADNet Conference is designed for those involved with Art and Design education in museums and schools.

The aims of this year’s conference are: To raise awareness of current Art education practice in schools at KS3.

To enable museum educators and teachers to work in collaboration to generate creative ideas.

To explore the potential for cross- curricular projects between Art and other subjects in museums.

Wednesday 10th November. , . Coffee 10.00 am. Sessions 10.30 - 15.30 pm. Lunch and refreshments included. Free of charge.

Theme: Developing KS3 Partnerships. Keynote Speaker Andy Tickner: Head of Art and Design, Cheltenham Bournside School. PGCE Subject Leader, University of Gloucestershire.

Theme: Partnerships Across the Curriculum. Case Studies Sarah Lloyd: Education Officer Secondary Science, Oxford University Museum of Natural History. An Art and Biodiversity workshop.

Christopher Parkin: Lead Education Officer, Museum of the History of Science, University of Oxford. An Optics and Perspective workshop.

Camilla Shelley: Education Officer, River and Museum, Henley on Thames. An Art, English and IT workshop.

Breakout Sessions Theme: Working in Partnership with Teachers. Sue Hunter: Head of Art, Larkmead School, Abingdon.

Jane McDonald: Artist, teacher at St Helen and St Katharine School,

Jan Ruddock: Head of Art and Creative Arts for 25 years and Art Advisor for the Inner London Education Authority.
