Climate: Mediterranean, with dry and hot summers, and mild winters.

Terrain: Steep 30-45 degree south facing vineyards overlooking the . Alititude levels range between 200 and 400 meters. Extreme, dry, windy conditions are ideal for organic farming. Poor rocky soils, limestone mostly.

Farming: Organic. No irrigation, spraying only with sulfur in April, if necessary.

Vinification: Manual harvest, slightly raisinated grapes, destemmed, fermented with selected yeasts with a 10 day maceration. Matured for 12 months in 225 liter French oak barrels, 25% new oak, coarse filtration, one year in bottles before release.

Tasting Notes: A bit softer and fruitier compared to Skaramuča Dingač, the Postup is still a masculine wine of high extract, great structure and ageing potential. Intense black fruit on the nose, along with a note of dry hay and leather. Full-bodied with ample acidity and tannin to support the deep fruit of plum, figs, blueberry and earthy notes of the palate.

Serve at cellar temperature, allow to breathe and enjoy with lamb, beef, aged cheeses as well as inky, oily seafood and fish.

Winery: Skaramuča family farms the largest vineyard in the Dingač appellation on Pelješac Peninsula today. This extreme region is considered to be the best plavac mali site in Croatia, with only a handful of growers producing limited quantities of wine. Extreme working environment of this rugged terrain requires a lot of manual labor. The sun and the wind dry the grapes on the vine, providing natural yield control. The rustic and extracted plavac mali grape thrives here and produces special wines with long aging potential.
