SAINT DUNSTAN’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH MADISON, WISCONSIN JULY 2009` VOLUME XXIII, NUMBER 7

Refl ection on Scripture: “Encourage one another and build up each other, as indeed you are doing. But we appeal to you, brothers and sisters, to respect those who labor among you, and have charge over you in the lord and admonish you; esteem them very highly because of their work. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5: 11-13, 16 Personal Refl ection: What would it be like to pray without ceasing for one whole day? If it sounds exhausting, try it for one hour, or for ten minutes. Make it a goal to reach toward continual ongoing conversation with God and awareness of his presence. Congregational: What would it be like to have every active person at St. Dunstan’s be together for a whole day praying, singing hymns, and enjoying the fellowship of God and his people? What would it be like to have every meeting at St. Dunstan’s be an occasion of rejoicing, giving thanks, respecting, and encouraging each other?

Learn & Teach St. Dunstan’s buildings and grounds have much to teach about the story of the congregation of St. Dunstan. + On June 28th learn and teach about the Main Church Building. Tours will begin about 8:15 and 11:15 am. These tours are part of our self inventory to prepare for calling a new rector. How is this building an asset and what are its liabilities to carry out the mission and ministry of St. Dunstan’s? Do you know where the fi re extinguisher is? Can you fi nd the stone from St. Dunstan’s Abbey, Glastonbury, ? Have you seen the new youth area? Are you aware of what is in good condition and what needs repair? + In July, there will be a special tour and social event to learn and teach about the Arboretum. + On August 16th, tours of the Rectory and Parish Center will help us explore the place and value of these buildings to St. Dunstan’s.
