He played against Chip Reese and Andy Beal. Back in February , Beal first visited the Bellagio poker room. He enjoyed the atmosphere and met professional poker players, like Todd Brunson. Beal decided to study the game and face top players. Andy returned to Las Vegas and played heads-up with professionals for the highest stakes. Top professional poker players decided to pool their money with everybody who they thought could play the game against Beal. Beal began his match with Chip Reese, then Ted Forrest sat down. He is then asked to join the group and nobody else sits down besides Beal and his selected opponent, who alternates. Late in the series, The Corporation was forced to have all of its members add money to the collective bankroll in order to continue the match. The "professor" is Howard Lederer, a professional poker player whose rigorous analytical approach to the game earned him his nickname. The banker is Andy Beal, a multimillionaire obsessed with beating the world's best poker players at their game, limit Texas hold 'em, played for stratospheric stakes. The suicide king, a symbol of the aleatory nature of the endeavor, is the king of hearts, who holds his broadsword behind his head. It's a great mix, and Craig The 5 Minute Investor offers a knowledgeable and observant chronicle of the high-stakes games between Beal and the syndicate of professional players organized by the "Babe Ruth of poker," Doyle Brunson. Beal, for his part, took a mathematical approach, at one point running millions of computer simulations of various poker problems, in search of an edge against the pros, who rely on an uncanny intuition honed by thousands of hands. Craig includes enough details about the professionals to allow readers insight into their gambler personalities. Having interviewed many of the participants in this legendary poker battle, he describes it with an appropriate sense of awe, and readers will be awed as well. Very nice to understand the high stakers concepts of money, risks, ups and downs of ones whom choose to be a professional gambler.     +2 in der Poker Hall of Fame Von Martin Tschiggerl Zwei neue Mitglieder hat die Poker Hall of Fame. Namentlich sind das Henry Orenstein und Dewey Tomko. Die Zeremonie zur Aufnahme der beiden wird im Rahmen des Final Table der WSOP am 9. November im Rio Casino stattfinden. Die zwei US – Amerikaner werden die Mitgliedsnummern 36 und 37 in der Hall of Fame haben. Laut Angaben der Verantwortlichen muss man, um in die Hall of Fame aufgenommen zu werden, entweder lange Jahre erfolgreich im High Stakes Bereich gepokert und große Turniere erfolgreich absolviert haben, oder auf anderem Wege Großes für das Pokerspiel geleistet haben. Bekannte Mitglieder der Hall of Fame sind unter anderem Johnny Moss, Doyle Brunson, Benny Binion, Jack Binion, Lyle Berman, Johnny Chan, TJ Cloutier, Stuey Ungar und Chip Reese. Letztes Jahr wurden Phil Hellmuth und Barbara Enright aufgenommen. Henry Obenstein ist, neben der Tatsache, dass er selbst ein erfolgreicher Pokerspieler und im Besitz eines Bracelets ist, auch der Erfinder der „Hole Card Cam“. Sein Patent ermöglichte erst die Vermarktung von Poker im Fernsehen. Außerdem ist der Holocaust Überlebende der Produzent des bekannten TV – Formates „High Stakes Poker.“ Dewey Tomko ist ein ehemaliger Musiklehrer aus Florida und seines Zeichens Rekordhalter für die meisten Teilnahmen am Main Event der WSOP, nämlich 35. Insgesamt nennt er drei WSOP Bracelets sein Eigen und konnte zweimal das Main Event als Zweiter beenden. Er war übrigens das „Opfer“ des legendären „a chip and a chair“ Comebacks von Jack Straus im Jahre 1982 und musste sich damals Straus im Heads – Up geschlagen geben..
