Natural disaster Assessment and Response Update:

Kunar: As per the initial report from ANDMA; Two families were affected and unknown number of families were displaced due to Kunar river water overflow in Sarkanow district on 11 July. ANDMA distributed NFIs and food items and IMC distributed family tent to two affected families while a join team consisted of IOM, IMC, WFP and ANDMA will initiate assessment of the affected area. Badakhshan: As per the initial report from ANDMA, 40 families were reportedly affected by river bank erosion in Samatee village of on 10 July. A joint team consisting of IOM and ANDMA conducted the assessment of the affected families, 25 families were displaced as their houses were surrounded by Kokcha river water overflow currently living with host families in the same village. ANDMA will dispatch an excavator to divert the direction of water and will also distribute family tents to all 25 families.

Conflict IDPs Update: Ghazni: As per the initial reports obtained from ARCS; 400 families were displaced due to recent conflicts and ongoing military operation from Dihyak district to Pirzada, Qala E Jawz, Arbab Ha, Ali lala, Qala E Meri, Qala e Now and Khawaja Hakeem villages of Ghazni center and an unknow number of families were displaced from Dihyak and Khwaja Omari districts to other neighboring villages of the mentioned districts. Joint assessment teams consisting of IOM, ARCs, ANDMA, DoRR, WSTA, WFP, RI and RRD initiated the assess- ment of the displaced families on 13 June. 599 families were assessed in Ghazni center of which 270 families were identified eligible for humanitarian assistance. DoRRD and ANDMA distributed NFIs and food items to 100 families on 24 June. DORRD and WFP distributed NFIs and food items to remaining 170 identified families on 09 July. ARCs con- ducted assessment of displaced families in insecure areas on 11 July. 320 families were identified displaced and eligible for humanitarian assistance. ARCs will distribute NFIs and food items to these families. DoRR received petitions indicating displacement of 350 newly displaced families from Khuja Omari and Dih Yak districts to Ghazni city. A joint assessment team consisting of DACAAR, DRC, CARE, ANDMA, RI, WFP and DoRR initiated assessment of the newly arrived IDPs. 400 families were assessed of which 78 families were identified eligible for humanitarian assistance. DCR distributed cash (18,000 AFN/ Family) and DACAAR distributed Hygiene and will construct 39 EBLs for 46 families and will distribute 13 plastics chairs for disable persons.

Kapisa: DoRR reported displacement of 110 families from, Parwan, Kundoz, Noristan, Takhar, Laghman, Logar and insecure district of to in Hese awal, ahmood raqi and Hese dom districts displaced due to conflict. Additionally, 105 families were displaced due to conflict from Pachaghan, Ghain and Afghanyah valley of Tagab district to Kha- rij dara of Nijrab district. A joint assessment by partners is on-going however DRC and WFP committed to cover NFI and food needs of the displaced families.

Kabul: DoRR received petition of 202 newly arrived conflict IDP families from Wardak, Kunar, Laghaman, Nangarahar, Logar, Takhar, Baghlan, Paktia, Kapisa and Parwan provinces to city. The screening committee members agreed to conduct assessment following screening committee members interview with IDP families. WFP, DRC, SCI and DACAAR initiated assessment to verify the needs, DRC and WFP committed to cover NFI and food needs upon completion of the assessment.

Ghor: Per initial report obtain from DoRR; 139 families were displaced due to conflict from Pasaband, Shahrak, Dawlatyar, Doloinah, and Cheghcheran to Cheghcheran central villag- es (Dara Qazi, Shaikhalmand, Pozlalich and IDPs camp during June and July. A joint assessment team consisting of DoRR, AAH, NPO/RRAA (WFP PAT) and ARAA (UNHCR IP had conducted needs assessment from 30-June till 11 July 2019 and identified 67 families displaced to Cheghcheran eligible for humanitarian assistance. ACF (AAH) committed to provide cash for food and UNHCR will cover NFI needs.

Takhar: DoRR reported displacement of 900 families in Yaka-Bagh, Sadbargan, Totak, Zamchab and Deh-bala villages of Namak-Ab district and displacement of 100 families from Ba- harak district to Talqan City due to recently conflict between government forces and Taliban. A joint team consisting of humanitarian partners and DoRR initiated the assess- ment of the displaced families on 19 June. 2,469 families were found displaced and eligible for humanitarian assistance, 1,754 families received kitchen set, blankets, hygiene kits and food items distributed by UNCHR, UNICEF, ACTED, Missioneast, CONCERN, DACAAR and WFP while the response to the remaining families are on-going.

Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR):

The secound round of the community based disaster risk management (CBDRM) training workshop initiated in two communities of Kuner and Panjsher provinces.

- One community in , Lamatak village, the training start on 06 July for five days. 41 members of the community (20 male and 21 female) including a staff from ANDMA participated in the training.

- One community in , Dara Abdullah Khel village, the training start on 06 July for five days. 42 members of the community (21 male and 21 female) including a staff from ANDMA participated in the training.
