UNHCR,inpartnershipwithNigeriaImmigrationService(NIS),StateEmergencyManagementAgency(SEMA)andNationalEmergency ManagementAgency(NEMA)has carriedoutregistrationsinceAugust2015atbordercontrolpointsintheNorthEast.Therefugeereturneesarereturningto NigeriamainlyfromCameroon,NigerandChad. Sofar,22,408individualshavebeenregisteredbyNigeriaImmigrationServicefromJanuarythrough30th September 2019,comprisedof10,430households(HHs).83%of thespontaneousrefugeereturneesreporttohavebeenunregisteredwithauthoritiesinthecountryofasylum.UNHCRNigeriaisworkingcloselywithpartnerstoimplementa comprehensiveresponsestrategy,includingprovidingtargetedassistancetoreturningNigerians,developingthecapacityofkeystakeholderstotheresponseandadovcating forconditionsofreturns.
