University of St. Gallen Names BCG Senior Partner Dr. Nikolaus Lang Honorary Professor

• The mobility and globalization expert will give MBA lectures on digital platforms and ecosystems at HSG • Lang contributes experience from more than 20 years in the consulting industry and over 125 publications to the Institute of Management & Strategy (IoMS) and the Institute for Mobility (IMO)

Munich/St.Gallen, June 1, 2021—The University of St. Gallen (HSG) has appointed BCG Senior Partner Nikolaus Lang as Honorary Professor of Administration. With his PhD in economics, the native Austrian advises companies on mobility and globalization issues and leads Boston Consulting Group’s Global Advantage practice. In the future, he will lecture on digital platforms and ecosystems and supervise events on the future of mobility in the HSG MBA program.

Professor Christoph Lechner, Director of the Institute of Management, says: “We are delighted to appoint Nikolaus Lang as a new honorary professor at HSG. His work on topics such as digital platforms, ecosystems, and mobility concepts is highly relevant for our students as well.” Professor Andreas Herrmann, Head of the Institute for Mobility (IMO), agrees: “Dr. Nikolaus Lang is an outstanding entrepreneur, with a global network and the highest reputation. In his past 20 years at BCG, Lang has advised clients in more than 50 countries on issues of globalization and mobility. He is an expert in connectivity, autonomous driving, and new mobility. Matthias Tauber, leader of BCG’s & region, says, “Nikolaus Lang has decades of experience as a consultant and has successfully built BCG’s Center for Digital in Automotive and the Center for Mobility . After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Economics and Business, Lang earned his master’s degree and PhD at the University of St. Gallen. Since 1998, he has worked at BCG in various roles, most recently as Managing Boston Consulting Group Director and Senior Partner.
