4 T he purpose of the requested mapping is to generate comprehensive k nowledge through performing post-disaster situation analysis concerning flood events that occurred, within January 18 to January 22, 2017, within two main Sardinia’s rivers flow (T irso and Cedrino) and specifically addresses four (4) sub AO Is in Sardinia (IT ). T he results refer to risk assessment products; vulnerability, damage and risk mapping. T owards adequate disaster recovery activities, efficient support and informed decision mak ing of the involved stak eholders, a retrospective flood mapping (spatial extent of the floods), link ed with the flooding event, was realiz ed within the O rosei sub Area accompanied by risk and damage (sector wise) assessments. For the remaining sub areas, near to Buddusò, O liena and O ttana agglomerations, risk and vulnerability assessment was applied. Key user of the geospatial information and the related map series is the National Civil P rotection, P residenz a del Consiglio dei Ministri, the national body in Italy that deals with the prediction, prevention and management of exceptional events. 892,66 984,8 0 0

Framework

T he products elaborated in the framework of the current Risk and Recovery mapping activation are realised to the best of our ability. All geographic information has limitations due to scale, resolution, date and interpretation of the original data sources. T he products are compliant with the Copernicus EMS Risk and Recovery P roduct P ortfolio specifications. 0 0

4 4 T he map shows the flash flood risk assessment for P O Is and T N. 4 4 T he risk assessment has been determined as follows: T he H az ard is based on the Piano d’Assetto Idrogeolgico (P AI) maps available through the Sardegna Geoportale (www.sardegnageoportale.it), that defines four level of haz ards from low (H 1) to very high (H 4). N

" T he exposure is defined on the basis of Asset Category in the areas are located inside a N 0 ' " flood susceptible area. T o each category a specific level of vulnerability is assigned. T he 2 0 ' 3 2 ° risk level is mapped combining haz ard and vulnerability through specific look up tables. 3 0 °

4 T he estimated geometric accuracy of the images is 5 m and complies with the J RC 0 4 requirements referring to the mapping scale and is fully supported by the native positional accuracy of the back ground satellite imagery. T he estimated thematic accuracy of this product is 85% or better, based on internal validation procedures and visual interpretation of recogniz able items on very high resolution optical imagery. T he statistical table included in this map shows the number of P O Is per category and the KM of T N exposed to the five Risk Levels defined (very low, low, medium, high and very high). Contact T he map was produced (under the Service Contract nr. 259811 of the European Commission) on 02/02/2018 by GEO AP IKO NISIS (EL) – NO A (EL) – CIMA (IT ) – T RE ALT AMIRA (ES).
