Association Volunteers receive Preserve America Stewards Award from the First Lady. The Thacher Island Association was honored recently when Mrs. Michelle Obama, First Lady of the United States, designated it as one of the nation’s newest Preserve America Stewards. Here are some the weekly volunteers on the island in 2009.
