ASB Reports of Anti-Social behaviour have reduced over the last 3 months by 9.5%. Officers have been working and targeting hotspot and problem areas and implementing problem solving solutions, working with partners and engaging with the residents. For example we had numerous reports from residents on Linkfield Road regarding ASB, we secured the CCTV van, increased our patrols, liaised with the council’s parks team, conducted a mixture of early and late patrols to engage and speak with residents. We are also working to increase the awareness of the OWL platform and have been targeting Linkfield Road and Amhurst Gardens to deter criminals. Good work The ward officers continue to provide engagement opportunities for the community, recently holding a ‘Cuppa with a Copper’ event at Syon Park which allowed for an increased policing presence to deter criminals in light of an increase in ‘theft from motor vehicle’ in the car park and at the Hilton Hotel. Further to this, we are working with the Hilton staff and partners to increase awareness of putting valuables away and to improve the CCTV in the car park area. Officers were able to engage with local members of the community, offer reassurance and maintain a police presence in the area after the incident of murder in Isleworth. Officers have also been in touch with the neighbouring DWO’s from Osterley & Spring Grove in regards to this incident and they have attended a meeting on our behalf to address concerns the Somalian community has – this will be followed up and contact will be maintained. Syon ward officers are also looking to hold a community day, we are in the planning stages of this at the moment – in the hopes of bringing the community together after the incident. PC Greasley has been involved with an ongoing case involving a well-known bicycle thief who has been caught on CCTV at Brentford lock on numerous occasions. He had previously been known for stealing bicycles from the Chiswick Business Park in Turnham Green and is currently making attempts at Brentford Lock. PC Bharj is working with the ‘design out crime officers’ to work closely with Brentford Lock to offer ways to target harden the area. Syon has seen a 3.7% reduction in total notifiable crime from Jan 2019 to March 2019.
