Estudio pintura en el instituto de Arte de Chicago y en el colegio de Arte de Maryland.

En la década de los 80 empieza hacerse notar abriendo su estudio con un personal de 30 ayudantes, basándose un poco en Andy Warhol este local se llamaba the factory. OBRAS Clasificada a veces como minimalista y Neo-pop, su obra consistía inicialmente en escultura conceptual que fue adquiriendo monumentalidad (Puppy). Koons ha incursionado en la escultura de instalación, la pintura, y la fotografía.

Su obra es una crítica del consumismo, utiliza objetos cotidianos y de valor mínimo para conseguir su objetivo, al igual que hizo Duchamp, colocándolos en galerías iluminados y carentes de su antigua función. También son frecuentes en algunas de sus obras chicas pin up, juguetes hinchables y demás objetos de la clase media. La idea es la principal característica que debe coronar a la obra. Sus objetos provocan una especie de burla la cual va encaminada directamente hacia la influencia de la mayoría de la población por los mas media y la publicidad.

Trata los sueños de la clase media, para el es importante, y siempre lo ha visto como algo efímero y se basto con lo mas mínimo. Inflatable Flower and Bunny (Tall White, Pink Bunny)

Por lo que hemos visto se trata de un joven artista aun activo, y con mucho prestigio y con cosas aun por descubrir y por enseñarnos.

Es un artista al que merece la pena ir a ver por su variedad de obras, donde predominan los colores alegres y fuertes junto con brillos y reflejos com si fueran espejos. Sus influencias son: H.C. Westermann, Salvador Dalí, Marcel Duchamp

He visto algunas de sus obras y lo recomiendo a todo el mundo , es un artista al que vale la pena tener en una lista de cosas pendientes por hacer e ir a realizarlo. “Cuando veo el mundo, no creo que de mi propio trabajo. Pienso en mi esperanza de que, a través del arte, la gente puede tener una idea del tipo de tejido invisible que contiene todos nosotros juntos, que mantiene el mundo unido”
