Students sat in the darkness of the upper balcony with an unbroken gaze on the lighted stage below. They watched with wide-eyed fascination as George Washington Carver pondered the uses for his latest peanut crop and as Jackie Robinson got his chance to play for the Dodgers. These Martin County students experienced notable moments in history like never before as a part of The Lyric Theatre’s Discovery Series for Young Audiences.

SUMMER CAMP Partnering with U.S. Sugar, The Lyric Theatre offered scholarships for students of area Title 1 schools to attend Discovery Series shows. For the third year, these scholarships allowed for students to enjoy the educational and cultural experience that The Lyric Theatre provides.
