  • Friday 3 September 2021 Hauger Beats Schumacher to Pole With
Friday 3 September 2021 Hauger beats Schumacher to pole with sensational late lap in Zandvoort Championship leader Dennis Hauger pulled off a spectacular late lap to deny David Schumacher pole for the first time in Formula 3 and get his title bid back on track after a difficult Round 5 in Spa. Missing out on pole to the PREMA by a tenth, the Trident driver will start from the front row for the first time ahead of MP Motorsport’s Victor Martins. Ayumu Iwasa’s Hitech Grand Prix led the cars around for their first tour of Zandvoort in Qualifying, but it was Jack Doohan who topped the order at the end of the first flying laps, the Trident racer beating Frederik Vesti with a time of 1:25.630. A few of the field dived in for fresh rubber with 20 minutes to go, but Hauger stayed out to punch in a statement of intent. The Red Bull junior scored just six points in Spa but appeared to be back on the pace in Zandvoort, launching from fifth to first with a tour of 1:25.167. Neither Schumacher nor Arthur Leclerc could match the Championship leader, but they were able to jump to second and third, before diving into the pits with the remainder of the field for a freshen up. Schumacher set a sensational lap as he started his second run, going purple in both the first and second sector to snatch provisional pole from Hauger. The PREMA attempted to respond but couldn’t find any more time.

Dennis Hauger first in both sessions on Hungaroring circuit Both best laps are of the Norwegian Hungaroring, 5 July 2019 – First day of the racing weekend of the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth in Hungary has ended, with Friday free practices. Dennis Hauger (Van Amersfoort Racing) has both best lap times of the day, respectively 1’43.488 and 1’44.005. Behind him in morning session Paul Aron (Prema Powerteam) with quite some distance of 0.332, Mikhael Belov, BhaiTech Srl (+0.362) and Gianluca Petecof, second fastest of the 4 Prema Powerteam drivers (+0.377). Dry track and high temperature at Mogyoród already in the morning, with a persisting sun bringing air temperature to 25.6 degrees centigrade leading to an asphalt of 40.9°. Even hotter is the second session, where heat has been hitting hard, but still the Norwegian Van Amesfoort Racing driver has not slowed down still being the fastest on track. After him in free practice 2 Gianluca Petecov (1'44.116) and Paul Aron (1'44.228). The young Van Amersfoort Racing driver has confirmed excellent lap times of the collective tests of some weeks ago on this same track, giving good expectations for the next two days. In the Rookie standings Paul Aron (Prema Powerteam), brother of 2015 Italian F4 Champion Ralf Aron, is the fastest in first and second session, followed by Jonny Edgar (Jenzer Motorsport) in both sessions. Third respectively in session 1 and 2 Johua Duerkser (BWT Muecke Motorsport) and Roman Stanek (US Racing). Tension grows so for the qualifying session and race 1 of tomorrow.
