Janet joined Northaven in November as a Resident Service Coordinator. A funded position she time shares with Susan Cramer. Born in L.A. and raised in Orange County she moved to Oregon in the 90s for college and has never left the northwest. Janet has an MSW from the University of Washington. She lives in Seattle with her husband and 14 year old daughter and has a pas- sion for travel.

“I’m afraid it sounds trite but what gets me going every day is helping people”, she says. Janet helps members of our Northaven community navigate Medi- care, doctor appointments, and a myriad of worries. She becomes the “phone ears” for those who have hearing problems and facilitates a low vision support group. She has walked stairs with community members trying to exercise, con- nects them with resources and helps some with mental health care. Melding her undergrad degree in landscape architecture and her social work degree, she has organized a Garden Club and bubbles over in anticipation of gardening with community members as spring arrives.
