COVID-19 vaccines developed by a proven process

We’ve all heard different reports about the COVID-19 vaccines, including concerns about their safety. But even though COVID-19 is new, the vaccine development process is not. It’s tried, true and proven to produce safe, effective vaccines.

It’s understandable to be concerned about the safety of COVID-19 vaccines. Here are three good reasons to feel reassured.

1) There is a proven process for developing vaccines. In the U.S., this process has produced safe and effective vaccines for the flu, polio, measles, mumps, pertussis (whooping cough), and more. These vaccines have saved millions of people from sickness, paralysis, and death.

2) The development process for the COVID-19 vaccines has been accelerated, but NO STEPS HAVE BEEN OMITTED. Unprecedented global cooperation and financial investment have made it possible to accelerate the creation of the COVID-19 vaccines.

3) By the time a vaccine reaches you, it will have been tested on tens of thousands of people.

By trusting in this proven process that has already saved millions of lives, we’re doing our part to spread hope, not COVID. The vaccines are our best hope for getting life in Michigan back on track.
