Dear Friends in Christ: “I am the Lord who brought you from Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land as a possession.” ~Genesis 15:7 Ordinarily, March 17 is the feast day of St. Patrick. This year, the second Sunday of Lent trumps that. Nevertheless, those of Just as the Lord gave , and the Israelites a land us with Irish DNA should celebrate (in moderation!) this feast to possess, He has also given each of us a home. Whether your day. home is grand or humble, it is a gift from God. right here in town?” This is Catholicism at its best. We are a large Fr. Thomas Brundage and diverse church, and helping to provide a top-notch education Pastor to the children of the South Side of Milwaukee is part of being a Catholic and is in everyone’s best interests.

Our children here at St. Jerome’s likely will work and pray with some of these kids as they become adults. This is a matter of the common good.

The new governor seems to be wavering in his support of the Stations of the Cross Wisconsin voucher program and has budgeted to freeze that program in the new state budget which lasts two years. We have Fridays during Lent about 22 kids in our school who are part of this program. This has been a godsend to these families to get a first rate Noon & 6:30 PM - Church education based upon religious principles. St. Jerome Parish page 3
