Scope of Association with EKU

Joint Research Publications/International Development Projects This comprises joint research investigation on contemporary issues primarily concentrated on: 1. Publishing the impact studies of various development projects, executed by me, with the interventions of donors on textbooks, stipend distributions, school management committees, school rehabilitation, and closed schools. 2. In addition, I will also be working with Dr. Richard Day on a comparative analysis of school reform interventions, mechanism and practices adopted in Province of Sindh and Kentucky State. 3. Devising a rubric for introducing and evaluating blended learning methods in developing countries or measuring the efficacy of the blended learning model in a teacher centered education context of developing countries. (Dr. Fred Ruppel and Paula Jones). 4. Developing an innovative scenario for higher education in the year 2050. This will be a comparative study addressing the challenges faced by developing and developed countries (Dr. Sherwood Thompson). 5. Comparing the roles, implementation approaches of NCATEs in both US and in Pakistan (Dr. Norman Powell). With the assistance of the organizations like Iqra University amongst others, EKU can explore the opportunity of undertaking various international development projects, particularly of USAID, that are focusing on introducing/implementing reforms for the improvement in public school system and building up the capacity of teacher training institutions in Pakistan. II. Development of Course(s) on Educational Policy and Management Practices: A Pakistani Scenario As I told you, realizing the geo/socio-political importance of Pakistan in Global world, It will be interesting to develop course(s) or course components (to be shared primarily, with the students of EKU pursuing their Masters and Ed.D program of studies) highlighting the epistemological framework of educational policies and management practices in a Pakistani context. Pakistan, experiencing massive transformation in the education sector, presents a unique blend of parallel education systems. However, juxtaposed against its fairly modern academic backdrop, is the Madrasah Education System, which has been conceived in this part of world as a primary source of religious instruction for students, whereas, in Pakistan, these madrasahs have been recognized as a parallel formal education system. As you suggested, the course can be delivered using a hybrid model. The course content will allow the EKU students to have a global perspective and understand the dynamics associated with international Education development. This will help them evaluate the existing education system in the developing countries, initiate dialogue and suggest policy interventions. If agreed, I can share the course scope, outlines, content, resources and strategy for delivery with you. III. Institutional Arrangements between The Academy Educational Network , Pakistan and Model Laboratory School , EKU
