4th Annual Sugar Shindig … a SWEET Success!

The Fort Bend ISD Education Foundation’s Angels of Education Auxiliary’s 4th annual Sugar Shindig presented by Dally + Associates, Inc. on October 26, 2018 at Safari Texas, netted nearly $56,000 for Grants to Teachers and Schools. Over 800 guests, including FBISD staff, volunteers and community members, came out to shimmy and shake, while enjoying a live cake auction and a buffet dinner.

19th Annual Back to School Scramble Makes Waves for Student Success! The 19th annual Fort Bend Education Foundation’s Back to School Scramble Golf Tournament took place on August 27, 2018 at Sweetwater Country Club. Schlumberger presented the event with Co-Chairs Jeremy Alberty and Chris Barton.

Thanks to the generosity of this year’s participants, the event set a record, netting over $132,000 for the Fort Bend Education Foundation and its Grants to Teachers and Schools. The 256 golfers who played in the tournament enjoyed breakfast from Chick-fil-A and an awards luncheon at the end of the day.

Fort Bend Education Foundation caught Disco Fever for its 26th Annual Gala! The 26th annual Fort Bend Education Foundation Gala took place at the Sugar Land Marriott Hotel on March 2, 2019. This event, presented by Perdue Brandon Fielder Collins & Mott LLP, set a new record netting over $364,000 for Grants to Teachers and Schools. The ballroom was packed with almost 800 guests, and every school in Fort Bend ISD participated by providing a Silent Auction basket. The Ridge Point High School Drumline and Jazz Band, along with the band, Password, entertained supporters with disco music throughout the evening. Gala Co-Chairs Stacy Bynes and Laura Winters toasted the guests for their efforts to support the Fort Bend Education Foundation to enrich and enhance the quality of education for all Fort Bend ISD students.

Neill Elementary School (Math) — Mastering the Multiplication Madness With new math centers geared toward math fact fluency, students enjoy the process of “traveling” down the R.O.A.D. to Success. They challenge themselves and encourage others along the way. Students love the diversity of each activity and feel more confident about their fluency.

Christa McAuliffe Middle School (Career and Technical Education) — The Fruit of our Looms With the materials provided by this grant, students are able to understand the roots of new and evolving technology, as well as, the skeleton of the engineering behind their clothing. Students learn the “how” behind the creation of the fabrics, the history that started it all, and appreciate the privileges we have today when purchasing these items in a store.

Walker Station (Reading/ ELA) — Read with Me Independently! Part Deux (Library) — Kreation Lab Students take multiple books The Kreation Lab provides the library with the space and home on a nightly basis to tools needed to launch a makerspace.
